“ADULT” Gives Viagra To The Gay Porn Mag

Given the explosion of mainstream digital magazines,it's a wonder no one thought of it before. ADULT is an old fashioned monthly porn mag brought up to the digital age. Along with nekkid, XXX photo spreads, there's that long-forgotten wonder called the longform article! You know, words in paragraph form that talk about graphic gay sex. (Kinda like a blog. Should Fleshbot be worried?) But since it's on an iPad, and not on paper, ADULT is rife with marvelous interactive features. Of course, being Dominic Ford, there's a healthy helping of tongue-in-cheek satire of gay rags. There are monthly "Whorescopes," naturally, since every magazine needs to also help guide your futures. One of our favorite features is the vid bloopers, which brings much needed humor into the serious business of having porn sex. The video in the April Issue of Matthew Rush misunderstanding how to "slap" his scene partner is a gem!

Sometimes we're not sure exactly if the satire is intentional. There's the requisite advice column "Ask ADULT," which gives some questionable tips. A reader writes in with concern about the lagging sex life between him and his boyfriend, because they both have gained weight. Here's ADULT's advice:

Dear Chubs.... Maybe neither of you are attractive anymore. How about putting down the fork and going to the gym.... First, try the idea of a bedroom "guest star."

Ouch! We're not sure that's the best advice or the most compassionate way to phrase it, but it's certainly entertaining! It reminds us of the sassy drag queen advice column from long dead Manhattan gay club rag HX, who gave the most shallow, ridiculous advice, but it was a helluva lot of fun to read!
