Not All Gay Cowboys Are Jack & Ennis

Brokeback Mountain forever romanticized the notion of gay cowboys, but the truth of the matter is that most gay cowboys are nothing like Jack and Ennis. 32-year old Miki Velickovski--the Jack Twist of the duo--and 34-year old Dan Smith--the de facto Ennis Del Mar--settled in New South Wales after an early life spent touring with the rodeo, and now they live a life of quiet solitude.

While we're shattering illusions here, these guys don't spend their day eating pudding. They wake up just before sunrise and then commence with their morning ritual of feeding their animals and shoveling cow shit. It's hardly worth romanticizing, but it is startlingly romantic, and will leave you with a warm feeling about the current state of gay cowboys.
