Here we are again with another edition of Bear Watch, wherein yer boy Hank here throws up the random posts that are suggested for me on Instagram, in the random order in which they appeared. Gee, ya think the IG algorithm knows I have a type?!
This is Tommy Taylor, an illustrator of homoerotica. I haven't done a deep dive of his stuff, but I like what I see so far! He seems to have a lot of characters he's created that inhabit a few worlds and locations, specifically The Midnight Motel and The Men's Room. A couple of regular characters he's brought together as a hot couple, Eli and Gage, are pictured above in their first meeting, a drunken night out that Eli, the ginger, thinks he's botched when the sweetly gruff Gage carries him home and tucks him in. The style and themes harken back to the more graphically sexual work of Bill Ward. But it's IG, so no nudity. Go check him out; he's got merch!
Guy Branum is an Emmy and Golden Globe-winning comedian, actor, writer, and producer who has worked behind and in front of the camera on such luminescent projects as Hacks, The Mondy Project, A League of Their Own, and Bros. He's currently in Apple TV's Platonic. His IG is littered with awesome content, and one series of posts is particularly insightful. "What the Old Gays Remember" breaks down moments in social history and pop culture in funny and erudite ways. He'll educate as well as entertain! Check out in the post above his awesome dive into one of the most important episodes of the 1980s sitcom Designing Women, in which the women of Sugerbaker Designs come head-to-head with AIDS and homophobia.
This is Dylan. He skips! And yeah, that's about it. Well, there's more to it than that, but most of his content is edited videos of him skipping rope in public places to upbeat songs. And I'm telling you, it's some of the best 4-minute joy you'll find to take your mind off things and decompress for a bit. He's a super cute dude (pretty sure he's family but don't quote me on that!) who started jumping rope as another way to lose weight and get into better shape. Above you see a rare shirtless video, and Dylan, thank you! I mean, he's hot with his shirt on, but damn. He's a smoke show daddy. He also has videos about his video process, some humanitarian work he does, and light life advice. But mostly it's just joyful jumping rope!
Matt LeGrande. This guy I'm most intrigued by. Gay, definitely, Christian, formerly, but maybe not anymore? Comedian, writer, podcaster, and furry as fuck! All I know is he looks amazing in a white t-shirt with his undies peaking out of his faded jeans.
