Porn Star Scott Finn Has Passed

The gay porn industry has suffered yet another loss this year. On November 23rd, Scott Finn (Rhett Douglas Messerly) passed away, as shared by his family. His family set up a memorial/obituary website, stating, "With heavy and grieving hearts, we announce the passing of our son, brother, and uncle, Rhett Douglas Messerly, on November 23rd, 2025."

Scott began his porn career in 2018, featuring in studios that include Active Duty and Next Door Studios. His youthful appearance and beaming personality made him a fan favorite. He was signed on as a Next Door Studio exclusive.

Back in June, Scott posted a melancholy entry on Twitter, saying the past year had been rough for him. He referred to a divorce and being single again. That was the last post he made on Twitter.

According to some of his posts, he was going to focus on his chef skills and was in the process of starting new socials. Scott's family obituary states, "He was also a skilled chef who loved to share his passion of food and cooking with his friends and family, always creating new recipes and posting them online for others to try."

Scott was only 27. No cause of death has been reported. Instead, his family is focusing on his legacy of being a kind person. The obituary site includes many candid pictures from Scott's life, from his youth to recent years. He is surrounded by friends and family. The obituary further states, "Most importantly, he will be remembered for his incredible capacity to help others. He was especially sympathetic to women in need, whether it was helping them dig out their car from the snow, providing a meal, or helping them feel safe in their circumstances. Throughout his life, friends were drawn to him because of his immense capacity for accepting people for who they are, no matter how they came."

Many posts have been shared on social media, from porn fans to personal friendships, talking about the quality of the person he was. He will be missed in many different circles. His funeral takes place today in Ogden, Utah, his birthplace.
