So, just how does one rise through the ranks of content creators to become a hot new star? A great person to ask is Ukrainian cutie Serg Shepard. From his working-class youth in Ukraine, to being a struggling young artist and photographer in New York City, to now being one of the most prolific and in-demand performers in the industry, this guy has pretty much lived the American dream, or at least the American Porn Star's dream. He joined us for an interview to share how his determination and work ethic brought him to the top.

Name? Age? Hometown? Occupation?
Serg Shepard. 33. Born in Ukraine, but now live in New York. Adult entertainer and photographer.
Relationship status?
Single, but have been married.
How did you create your stage name?
My real name is Sergey, so Serg is just a shortened version. My last name is similar to Shepard. In high school, I had been called Shepa, then my ex started calling me Shepard. Maybe because he was always following my lead as a well-behaved sheep. So I just put the two together and got my unique name, different from the Wolfs, Waynes, Connors, and other name families in porn.

Could you tell us about your background?
I was born and raised in Ukraine’s second biggest city, Kharkiv, in a family that migrated all the time for political reasons. I was a very independent kid from the beginning. I started working at 16 years old because I knew I needed to take care of myself financially and help my family. My mom was working three jobs already. I used to be a dancer, worked in drag shows, cabaret clubs, had my dance team, and worked as a choreographer. I studied seven years of classical guitar and I studied geology and paleontology in college. Then I met my first big love and moved to Kyiv to be with him. Five years later, I met my ex-husband and moved to the States. Then tried many careers. I like to learn and try new things in life, so New York was perfect for me, because it’s the city of opportunities and hustle. In New York, I modeled a lot for photographers and drawing artists over the years, also taught by my friend, photographer Richard Rothstein, and became a photographer myself.
What was it like being gay in Ukraine? Are they embracing gay life?
When I was growing up, Ukraine was still on the way to development from the post-USSR world, and it was on the right track. There were a couple of gay bars in my hometown, and we had a queer community. Outside on the streets, people were still very close-minded, and you could get looks your way and sometimes get harassed by what you wear or how you look. There can be attacks on gay people as well, and I know a few horrible stories. But overall, especially before I left the country, Ukraine became a more and more liberated government that was in support of pro-European views. The only downside was the mentality of the people. That still needs work in a couple of generations. The interesting thing, when I was performing with drag shows, we were working everywhere, for straight people as well. Being a drag performer counted as artistic, not gay! Lol. I was a very expressive gay, I think, because I wanted to resist. In my high school, everyone knew I was gay. I was expressing myself, and in some ways, it scared bullies. They respected me for that. I was true to myself and didn’t give a shit what they thought. To be fair, I also have a very good, supportive friends group. It’s still not easy to be gay in Ukraine, but people there are on a good path, I believe. The downside and big obstruction now is the war.

When and why did you come to America?
I came to the U.S. nine years ago, very suddenly. I had met a guy in Ukraine, and a year later, I moved via a fierce visa, and we got married. Long story short, it didn’t work, we weren’t a great match, but I am very thankful that it gave me the chance and opportunity to move. I believe it was fate. I never thought it would ever happen and never planned it. It’s just happened.
When and how did you first start creating content?
In 2021, I had a photoshoot as the photographer of a gorgeous couple, Jay Summers and Jonathan Ortiz, who became my very close friends over the years. We had a good chemistry and connection, and a good time, so I came to visit them in Puerto Rico, we went on a hike, and the scenery was spectacular; so, because they were telling me for a while that I must start doing content, I had thoughts of that. Plus, over the years, I had already modeled nude and done some videos for different projects. I thought that was the best place to film something, so it was my first scene, and it was epic. So that’s how they got me into it.
When did you first venture into studio work?
My first one, I think, was wrestling male studio ETIENNE, Erik as director. We were chatting online, and I was into wrestling, so he asked me if I would like to film in Florida, and I went there. It was fantastic, I loved being directed, and the scenery of the surroundings. Then I got connected with NakedSword and Marc McNamara, and we had a couple of wonderful scenes. And after that, I started my great journey with Carnal Media and Legrand Wolf as an exclusive for a couple of years. And now I am on my own, filming with lots of other studios, and being blessed and happy.

How do you compare your work in the studio world to your OnlyFans work?
Studio work is all about performance art, some sort of stage performance, the theatricality of it is amazing, it’s a full transformation into character, storytelling; while OnlyFans is more real thing, it’s about connection with viewers, it’s about showing them who you really are and how you have sex daily.
Any preference?
As much as I like OnlyFans and have fun with my colleagues, I prefer studio work. I just love porn. I love to perform live work with the camera, the angles, get into character, and deliver the story. I think I always wanted to be on stage or on TV, and that’s my way to go.
Are you working at a very heavy, fast pace? How do you still manage to give your full effort to every performance?
I see myself as a workaholic; if I do nothing, I feel unproductive, lol. And I think if you do something that you truly love to do, it just brings you joy. I love working with different studios, the variety of transformations, traveling, and working with different people; it’s a lot of fun. So I am always ready to deliver with full effort and a big smile of joy.

What do you still want to do in the porn world? Scenes? Scene partners? Sexual activities?
I want to keep exploring, I want to get as many possible roles in bigger productions of full features, I want to work with guys in scenes like Rhyheim, he has always been my dream person to work with, also give me more scenes with Paddy, Sir Peter, and Adam Snow. I want to explore South American productions, and the guys there are just so beautiful. Loved working with Canino Latino in Peru, and I will do it more for sure. I would like to work on features with a dramatic vibe and with more opportunities for acting. I think full-on gay dramatic movies with erotic content are very underrated. Also, on my kinky side, I want to be an ultimate cum dump boy in a blindfold. The more the dicks better!
Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of porn. Interests? Hobbies? Beliefs? Passions?
I do have a passion for photography, I always bring my camera everywhere, about to have my solo show in a gallery in SoHo in January, btw. Love to photograph male physiques and nature. Enjoy traveling, that’s why one of the upsides of working in porn is filming in different places around the world. Believe that we need to take care of our loved ones and give them joy and happiness. I care deeply about my connection with my mom and my friends.
I love anything about the stage, theater, and film. One of the great things about New York is Broadway, and of course, I don’t miss anything. My best friend and I have seen almost every Broadway play and musical and many off-Broadway shows over the past 5-6 years. Ask me anything about it, and I’ll give you my opinions lol, maybe I should have been a critic. Same about movies, love movies and TV series. Trying to see as much as possible in my free time. Cinema is my safe space.
Tell us more about your photography.
I’m pleased to have a gift for 9looking at people through the lens of a camera. I think there is something magical about it to expose people to a moment of rediscovery of themselves. The way I work is to let my models be themselves best, just being organic and relaxed, or go opposite and go full performance if they desire to. And I will find the angles of their gorgeous bodies, because every body is unique and beautiful, find a perfect composition, a perfect shot. I think male physique is just a universe of shadows breathing life, mountains of muscle, and rivers of veins. That’s why I love both natural landscapes and male physiques; there is something similar to their beauty.

Do you think your work in photography translates to your performing? How so?
Definitely. It helps you to learn how to work the camera, know the best light, best composition, the way to move, and timing. It helps a lot. Plus, the love for the camera makes me even more enjoy it from both sides of it, I am versatile after all, lol.

Who is the real Serg?
Well, who is the real me? Just a guy who wants to bring joy to people and to enjoy this world to its fullest, not to waste precious time, but to learn, explore, love, and be a cute nerd who likes movies, theater, games, and a good laugh.
How do you define a true "Porn Star"? Are you one?
The answer to this question can only be our fans, without whom we are nobody. I heard people telling me this in the most weird places around the world, and it was always the biggest validation for me, truly honored. For me, a porn star, it’s big names like Paddy O Brian, Trenton Dacuti, Ryheim, Legrand Wolf, and Rafael Alencar. And I think I still have growth in experience to go, to get on the same level, but I know I will!
What is your favorite thing about sex?
First, it’s always a connection, the way bodies touch, the way we look at each other, breathe on the same consistency. Without connection and human touch, are we truly human? It’s in our DNA that we need love, sex, and passion. Love kissing, if a partner is a good kisser, I will be super turned on. Love cum, on a face, in my mouth, inside of me. Enjoy nipple play, sucking, eating someone's ass (best way for me to cum is someone sits on my face with their big ass and doesn’t let me breathe, lol). Honestly, I like to discover what my partner loves; it’s always a game of joy and admiration for each other.
