Well, we've always known that out Jonathan Bailey is hotter than hot, but People Magazine has just named him the 2025 Sexiest Man Alive. They rolled out a series of covers to make their big announcement. Jonathan has dominated TV, screen, and stage, and now his hard work (and hard work at the gym) is being applauded. He has made history as the first out actor to receive the title.

While earning this title might seem like a fun affair, it is actually a bigger statement, especially during this current political time, towards the LGBTQ community. People Magazine has been a part of mainstream media since 1974. There was a time every household had a print copy on the coffee table. Now, it is just a digital platform, but still very much a part of mainstream media. Including an LGBTQ person on its cover with a title that has always been given to a straight man is huge.

It is such a huge milestone that even GLAAD made a statement, which pretty much sums it all up: “Jonathan Bailey’s recognition as People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2025 is a pop culture milestone that reflects just how far LGBTQ visibility in Hollywood has come. For decades, LGBTQ actors were excluded from conversations around leading-man appeal and blockbuster film franchises," said Anthony Allen Ramos, GLAAD's Vice President of Communications & Talent "Seeing an out gay actor star in some of the most successful movies of recent times and celebrated by People in this way sends a powerful message to the industry that audiences everywhere know that authenticity is attractive.”
