Our Visit to a ChoiceFilmz Content House

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to actually visit a porn shoot? Well, that's what this lucky reporter got to do a few weeks ago when Fleshbot shyly accepted an invitation to visit a content house hosted by our dear friend, famed director and ChoiceFilmz founder and CEO Chris Chrisco. For two days, Fleshbot was at the house to observe all the work (yes, very real and very hard work!) that Chris and his performers (they included gorgeous River North, Scott Braun, Dick Dawson, Beaux Matthews, Cahnning Flynn, Joey Dane, Brody Meyers, Parker Nolan, Miles Fallon, Jaxx Cody, Grayson Cole, Vincent O'Reilly, Adam Snow, Mike Monroe, Jace Starr, and Porter Wescott!), and his fellow filmmakers and photographers all put into shooting literally dozens of scenes and hundreds of photographs in a few short days at a beautiful vacation spot in summery Palm Springs.

Some of the biggest takeaways included: the level of professionalism for all involved (every scene shot included lots of paperwork and formal planning before any kind of actual sex took place), the level of friendliness and collaboration (everything from a big pile of thongs for any performer to choose from, to shared cameras and lights between Chris and all the other filmmakers and photographers present that weekend, to a delicious dinner for the whole house personally made by adorable Beaux Matthews), the absolute indefatigable energy and passion from Chris and his performers to create the best (and most) content they could. Over the two days that we were present (only a third of the entire shoot!), Chris and his performers were shooting bedroom scenes, pool scenes, couch scenes, night scenes, outdoor scenes, and so much more...

When he wasn't in the throes of running from place to place throughout the property to shoot more content, Chris took time to answer a few questions for us.

So, how did you and your team decide on Palm Springs as the location for your content house?

I had been bouncing around ideas between Florida, Utah, Montreal, and Palm Springs for a few weeks. In the end, Palm Springs made the most sense because it gave us access to a larger pool of models traveling in from LA, Vegas, and San Diego. That said, we also had models fly in from Florida, New York, Texas, and a few other states, so it wasn’t exclusively a West Coast roster — which was great for diversity. On top of that, I’d been in touch with homeowners in several different cities, and when we found this particular property in Palm Springs, it was simply too good to pass up. It checked every box — location, design, and space — so it became the clear choice.

I noticed that the process is actually very, very organized. With a spreadsheet of which models are working with each other and when. Is this process mostly set up by you or by your performers? Who decides when and with whom?

The way I put these houses together is actually a lot of fun. Once I have a final list of the participants, I create a document with their phone numbers, Twitter accounts, and photos so everyone knows who’s in the house. Then I send out a blank schedule with eight 90-minute slots for each day. From there, it’s really in the performers’ hands — they reach out to each other, decide who they want to pair with, and claim the slots that work best. So all of the pairings and scheduling are driven by the models themselves, and I just move around as needed based on what they’ve set up.

Could you explain the necessity of having each performer fill out paperwork for each separate collaboration?

I come from the studio world, and that background made me extremely particular about paperwork. For me, every single scene needs to have its own set of documentation, no exceptions. There’s a reason for that: the landscape of adult platforms and websites is constantly shifting, and I don’t have full confidence that their policies will stay the same over time. Right now, there are already loopholes that some models use to bypass certain requirements. By making sure each scene has complete, proper paperwork, I’m protecting the performers and giving them flexibility. If they ever want to post their content on a different platform in the future, they’ll already have everything they need to do it compliantly.

It seems to vary from performer to performer how much set up and direction, and choreography they want from you. Could you talk about adjusting your direction from performer to performer?

I’ve always been the kind of director who gives performers the freedom to create in the way that feels most authentic to them. Most of the time, creators already know how they want the scene to look and feel — from the positions they want to use to how they want to finish. Other times, performers are completely open and prefer more guidance. In those cases, I’ll take a moment to ask questions, consider the best camera angles, figure out how I can move around the room, and watch for things like lighting or shadows. Sometimes we’ll loosely choreograph a sequence to make sure it flows, but if they want to deviate, that’s absolutely fine. At the end of the day, my priority is capturing the energy and the essential shots — if that’s covered, I’m happy.

There were also some studio productions happening at the house simultaneously. Does this show that the studio world is partaking in this new hybrid model that you have created? Is this the way the industry is moving forward?

Yes, we did have a studio presence at the house. I think studios are paying attention to what we’re building and want to take advantage of this hybrid production model. For me, the more opportunities I can give creators during the day, the smoother the house runs. So if I can bring in a studio to run a side-by-side production, it’s a win for everyone — models get both content and paid studio work, studios get fresh scenes, and I get content for ChoiceFilmz.

On top of that, I had my good friend Mark Henderson there photographing models for upcoming book projects, which added another layer to the creative energy in the house. There’s a lot happening under one roof, and I think that’s the future: if you’re a creator who wants to work a lot and maximize your time, this type of house is exactly where you want to be.

You shot 10 scenes in two days! Could you talk about your endurance and ability to keep going?

I think the day you were there, I shot about ten scenes in one day, which definitely isn’t for the faint of heart. These houses move fast. Not only am I shooting video for every scene, but I’m also shooting stills, so I’m constantly moving around the room. I like to compare my job to a bullet train: once it leaves the station, it doesn’t slow down until it hits the destination.

My day starts the moment I walk into the house and pick up my cameras, and from there, it just flies by. By the time I get home, I’ll look over at my assistant and Mark Henderson and ask, “Wait… what did I even shoot today?” It all happens so quickly that sometimes I forget — though that might be age creeping in, too. For now, I’ll just say it’s because there’s so much happening and I’m busy from start to finish.

What was the end result of the week in Palm Springs? A total number of collabs? Was everyone pleased?

I do think this house was a huge success. By the end, we had shot 53 scenes in just five days. On top of that, there were studio productions and photo shoots happening throughout the property, so there really wasn’t a single quiet moment — in the best way possible.

That said, I think some creators, especially those who’ve done other content houses, may have expected more of a fun, vacation-style experience. Instead, they found themselves a little overwhelmed by how much was going on. And that’s why I always make it clear: my houses are for guys who really want to work — to create content, shoot with studios, and take advantage of paid photo opportunities. It’s not a vacation.

The models who thrived were the ones who came in ready to hustle. Some left with enough content to keep their OnlyFans running for three to four months. Those are the kinds of performers I love working with — real workhorses who see the opportunity and make the most of it.
