Bear World TV Premieres with Humor, Heart, and Heft

BEARS

Queer TV graphic, gay pride flag on TV screen

With all of the things available online, in print, and on your social feeds, Bear World Magazine looked around and said, "Yeah, there's still room for us!" And with their usual blend of guts, gumption, and gusto, they've launched the brand new digital video experience Bear World TV, which premiered August 7th. The Bear Culture magazine, a go-to for hirsute homos, their admirers, and everyone in between, has created what they describe as "a vibrant new video platform delivering weekly doses of news, entertainment, and culture created specifically for and by the bear community."

Bear World Magazine turns 13 this September, and we wanted to do something special to mark the milestone, Creating a broadcast platform will not only entertain but also amplify the many voices within our vibrant, diverse community. (Richard Jones, Bear World Magazine co-founder.)

Broken up into five weekly segments by five furry creatives, these short (2-3 minutes), entertaining and informative clips will give you brief rundowns on pop culture, travel, entertainment, nightlife, and community events, all dolled out with a thick (mmmm thick!) dose of humor, body positivity, and comunity celebration. Segments are airing now at Bear World Magazine, their YouTube Channel, and social media platforms like Instagram.

So, who's hosting this weekly online Bear run? Marquis The Honey Bear will tickle your ribs; Joe Martone is here to highlight national and international community events and people you should know; Alexander Rodriguez has all of your entertainment and pop culture dish; Ravi Roth will take you around the world in a daze; and Hunter Harden will lead you gently into the world of Bear nightlife. WOOF!

Let's hear what each host has to say about this exciting new project!

Alexander Rodriguez: Alexander On Screen

"Our representation in media is evolving, and so should our journalism. Bear World TV viewers can expect smarter questions and deeper conversations with queer icons and unsung heroes alike."

Marquis the Honey Bear: Marquis Is Barely Informed

"We’re tackling gay and bear culture one ridiculous topic at a time.” He describes his content as “unseriously serious fun.”

Hunter Harden: Hunter's Hot Nights (Sponsored by Gun Oil)

“It’s all about vibe,” he says. “A party with hugs, a great DJ, body positivity, and a little glitter? That’s what I call a hot night.”

Joe Martone: Wadda Ya Know With Joe (Sponsored by DeviousSaint.)

“I spotlight the movers and shakers, and the everyday legends who have carried the bear world on their hairy shoulders. If it makes you say, ‘aw damn, I wish I’d gone to that,’—I’ve got you covered.”

Ravi Roth: Ravi Round the World (Sponsored by Island House Key West.)

“Travel is more than a vacation.  It’s visibility, connection, and celebration. We’re making the world your bear playground.”

“Bear World TV will be a call to celebrate who we are: loudly, proudly, and together,” says Jones.
