Mario Lopez & Mark-Paul Gosselaar, the Saved by the Bell Studs, Showing Skin

For some of us gays, the TV show Saved by the Bell gave us our first feelings of a man crush. The show premiered on a Sunday night in 1989. YES, 1989...sigh, we are getting old. Saved by the Bell was geared towards youth and moved to Saturday mornings to offer a different option from cartoons. The move proved lucrative, and the show gained a wide audience. It's hard to believe that the show was only four seasons; it has become such a part of TV and pop culture history. For those of us hardcore fans, we know that it was a redo of the original show idea, Good Morning, Miss Bliss, on the Disney Channel. Shifting to Saved by the Bell, the series focused on the high school students and the plight of growing up with all the issues that come with it. It addressed a number of hot topics related to growing up, all to a laugh track. The producers knew that the series depended on the popularity of its main cast. Back to our first man crush, the show featured hotties Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Mario Lopez. Smart move. They quickly became heartthrobs, and the producers knew their appeal and capitalized on it. How many times did Mario Lopez wear a tank top or go shirtless to show off those biceps? Our empty boxes of Kleenex can tell you. Lucky for us, these two actors would go on to more dramatic roles, showing plenty of skin.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar

The casting for the lead role, the precarious Zack Morris, was difficult. The character needed to have the charm, looks, and energy to anchor the show. Mark-Paul wowed the casting director with his brief read-through, and he was immediately cast. Fun fact: Mark-Paul insisted that Dustin Diamond was perfect for the role of Screech. Diamond and Mark-Paul would be only two of four actors carried over from Good Morning, Miss Bliss.

Mark-Paul would shed off his Saved by the Bell years and mature into more dramatic roles, which meant also baring his meaty, muscle butt. It is quite, quite nice. He showed off his bubble ass in Weeds, NYPD Blue, and Franklin & Bash.

Check out those stellar man cakes:

Mario Lopez

Mario Lopez's character, AC Slater, was brought in after the show shifted from Miss Bliss to Saved by the Bell. AC Slater was originally intended to be a John Travolta-like character, an Italian American in a leather jacket. They were unable to fill the role, so they opened up the character's ethnicity. Mario came in to read, having come from the Kids Incorporated show (does anyone remember that show?). He was the best actor for the part and was cast.

Mario appeared in the Saved by the Bell reboot in 2020, and quickly showed off that he still had that stellar body.

He, too, would go on to mature roles and has shown off some stellar ass. Oh, how we would love a Mark-Paul/Mario butt scene together. Sigh.

He also appeared in a very steamy scene from the 1997 film Absolution. It's a little too graphic, so we can't show you here. But we can show you a beefcake scene he appears in with other hot men in nothing but their underwear. Woof!
