Why You Should Date An Older Guy At Least Once

In honor of today's Fleshbot Gay DILF love post, I thought I would chime in about dating an older guy. Lord knows I have had my fair share of relationships, hookups, and breakups...your guy Chad is a proud slut. But there are times when even this slut craves a real relationship and real time with a guy. I have dated twinks, bears, older guys, guys my age (I won't tell you what that is), and just about every other type under the sun. I am here to tell you that among the top, real relationships I have had, dating older guys has really gone well. I thought I would take the opportunity to share why I love dating an older guy, and why you should try it at least once.

There used to be a stigma and many sugar daddy jokes when it came to younger gays dating an older guy. That ageism has gone away recently, and I'm more than glad. I love a good read, but the fact is, there's a lot to learn from our older generation. Dating older guys just makes sense for some guys out there, and it isn't seen as strange or out of place like it did before. Trust me, there are many sugar daddy situations out there, but there are also some great romances out there that have an age gap that are going better than most other relationships. My best friend has been dating a guy 20 years his senior for ten years. They just bought a house and a boat. No, I'm not jealous at all.

There's a confidence and security that an older guy usually has. That includes not caring what other people think of him, because he's been through all of that already and is so sure of himself, he just doesn't give a rat's ass. This confidence is sexy in career, in social circles, and certainly in the bedroom. The sooner we can get over our insecurities, the stronger we become in many areas of life. An older guy exudes that kind of energy. And, if we are going to be realistic, that security also comes in the form of career and financial success. This is not always the case, but more often than not, older guys will have more of a handle on their financial situation than younger gays. It comes from learning from financial mistakes, it comes from saving money over the years, and it comes from advancing in the career world. There is comfort in dating someone who is financially secure. I'm not saying run out and find a sugar daddy to pay for your bills, but it is nice to know that bills can be paid, you can go on that fun trip, or that you don't always have to go to 2-for-1 at happy hour. Take the opportunity to learn about an older guy's financial security, and follow suit.

This might ruffle some feathers because we aren't supposed to be so hung up on masculine toxicity. I'm not talking about that, and this isn't always the case for everyone, but I do enjoy dating someone with some masculine energy. They don't need to be a thick, leather-wearing, muscle head who rides motorcycles; I'm just talking about a certain manly energy that comes from an older guy. Life has toughened them up; they weren't raised on Drag Race and Housewives, and they just exude this confident sexuality that I find manly. And I love it.

Sex...oh man, the sex! The assumption when dating an older guy is that he is going to have no sex drive and be terrible in bed. Um, no! They have years of experience under the sheets and are more than eager to share their ways. I have learned so much from taking my time in bed and experiencing new things as taught by my older guys. They also tend to be more attentive than younger guys. It's all about you! Some of the best orgasms I have had have been with more mature guys.

As someone who is a self-proclaimed drama queen, I have learned a thing or two about life from dating an older guy. They have been through life experiences, changes, and obstacles; they have seen the bigger picture and don't have time for stupidity. They don't sweat the small stuff, like minor inconveniences or things that just won't matter in the long run. There is such peace and understanding that is gained once you just take a breath, and don't get involved in drama or worry about the small things. There is so much more to enjoy about life. Why waste time on inconsequential stuff? If you are a reality TV devotee, you might disagree on what to watch on TV. Most of the older guys I have been with hate that kind of programming because it is stupid drama, and they would rather read a book with you in bed or take a walk and talk. There's something nice about taking some time out from a busy day to do just that. I have felt a stronger bond with an older guy because there tends to be more communication and quiet time together.

So, take it from a qualified slut and habitual relationship queen: date an older guy at least once. And enjoy it!
