The Studly Guys from Evita: Hot Theatre Guys
For us musical theatre gays out there, we know full well that the new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita had a huge opening night in the West End at the Palladium. This production, helmed by Jamie Lloyd, who was responsible for the Nicole Sherzinger-starring Sunset Blvd, has gotten a lot of attention. First of all, this production of Evita stars Rachel Zegler. She has gotten a lot of attention since her Golden Globe-winning turn in the West Side Story remake. But she had a bit of a fall from grace as reports of her being difficult came out, as well as very mixed reviews for her performance in the terrible Disney Snow White live-action film. It's just so interesting how the media can turn against a celeb so quickly, from loving her to tearing her apart. But she seems to be back on track with her performance as Evita. In this production, Jamie Lloyd has followed his signature style in presenting a scene outside of the theater, filmed live for the theatre goers inside. In this production, Rachel sings Don't Cry for Me Argentina from the balcony outside the London Palladium. Is it a gimmick? Sure. But it's worked. Crowds now wait outside the theater for Zegler to sing Evita's signature song, and the fan videos have gone viral. The show enjoyed a huge opening night, and this new version seems to be a hit.
Well, we certainly took notice when pictures of the curtain call were posted and saw one of the lead actors dripping with paint in nothing but tight black underwear. This is Evita? We aren't going to question it; we are just going to appreciate it. So we wanted to take this opportunity to pay homage to the hot leads of the show! The actor in question is Diego Andres Rodriguez, who plays Che, the show's narrator. Take a look at this pic that went viral:

Diego is a relative newbie in the theatre scene and hails from Texas. He made his Broadway debut in Sunset Blvd, and Evita marks his West End debut. This hottie has very limited content on his Instagram; we hope he gets to posting thirst traps. He is just so damn hot.

Playing the other male lead in Evita is James Olivas as Juan Peron. We love this casting. Usually, the role is cast with a thicker, older man. James is smoking hot and adds some sensuality to the proceedings.

Prior to Evita, James has done some TV and musical theatre in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl, Deaf West, and the Ahmanson. We were lucky enough to see him in the Secret Garden. He is one tall drink of hot water.

He's got legs for days!

We are intrigued about this new production of Evita and literally looked up flights and tickets after seeing the black underwear pic. We will let you know how it is!
