Botox For Your Balls? Yep!
We went on a date last week with a 23-year-old who was just coming from his Botox appointment. At 23! Why, oh why, are some of us gays so obsessed with looking and staying younger? There's dignity in aging (said as we apply more under-eye cream). Well, Botox is nothing new to the market; men have been getting the injections with fillers for a while now. It's not just for the gays, either. Many straight men are trying to fight the aging process by getting the procedure done, and they affectionately renamed it "Brotox." Yeah, that makes it masculine, bro! (Eye roll.) There's a new trend making its way around the male beauty scene, and it's Botox for the balls. Yep! Of course, it has to have a cute name, so it is widely known as Scrotox. Botox for the scrotum.
Scrotox was originally used to treat scrotum pain (ouch) due to inflammation, but has some other benefits that men are adopting to undergo the injections to the ball sack for vanity reasons. People believe that Botox for the balls makes the wrinkles on the scrotum less noticeable, it makes your balls sweat less, it increases the size of your balls, your balls hang lower, and it makes sex feel better. We took a look at our balls, why yes, it does look more wrinkly than in the years past. And, since we started realizing we were different than the other guys, we have lusted after a big set of low-hanging balls; there's just something sexy and masculine about them. Taking the sweat away, though? Truth be told, we love licking off a big set of balls directly after the gym; that clean sweat is sexy. Anyone else?
While there's not a whole lot of medical research into the effectiveness of Botox for the balls, many men swear by it. But it's going to cost you! Scrotox is not typically covered by medical insurance, and sessions may cost about $500. The only instance insurance may cover it is if it is due to chronic ball pain.
The procedure is done just like on the face. A numbing cream is applied to the scrotum, and multiple injections are made to the safe spots on your balls. The whole procedure is done in about four minutes. Recovery is very easy and painless. It is suggested that you don't have sex or lift heavy objects for a few hours after having it done. Seeing results could take a bit, taking days or even a week to notice a change. Possible side effects can be dull pain, bruising, swelling, numbness, and in lab rats, sperm count was found to be decreased. Botox for the balls can last about three or four months.
Other than looking fuller, smoother, and lower hanging, users of Scrotox report that they feel increased sensitivity and pleasure during sex. While this may be true, medical experts say that increased sexual pleasure could be derived from the confidence of having better-looking balls. You can find before-and-after pictures on the web, but it isn't as sexy as you would think.
