Coming Out Means Best Year Ever for This Hot, Gay Athlete
More often than not, gay men feel a huge relief after they finally come out. Depending on how traumatic the coming out experience is, there is anxiety and stress that is lifted after someone decides to live their authentic self. Pro hurdler Trey Cunningham came out publicly a year ago, and his career has been on the rise ever since. And we love watching.

Trey won the silver medal at the 2022 World Championships but then faltered a bit. He had a disappointing time of it at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials. His coach knew that he had to be authentically himself in order to be successful on the track. He encouraged Trey to come out publicly, and he hasn't looked back since. You can say, pardon the pun, that he's overcome the hurdles dealing with his sexuality.

Trey came out in an interview with the New York Times. Something has clicked, and he's been kicking it out of the park on the track. Social media has called him "track's new lover boy." And hot damn, he looks sexy doing his thing. Check him out as he beats Olympic champion Grant Holloway.

In addition to being a continued success on the track, he's entered the modeling world and has been signed as a Ford model. Most recently, he blurred the line between a masculine sports athlete and artistic fluidity for a photo shoot for Cero Magazine. He told Cero, “It took me a while to be okay with being gay, and that was the other reason. I still feel like some kids feel that way. They feel like they have to come out, so I did it for a kid like me in some other town.”

Right after his coming out, Trey set personal bests in two events at the Slam Track meet in Miami. Recently, he crushed it at the Diamond League. And just check out that form. We know what we are looking at!

Coming out has done this athlete very well, and we are seeing the ranks of out queer athletes rise. We hope Trey continues his rise all the way to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. We'll be waiting!
