Gay Athlete Jake Williamson Breaks World Records, Gives Thirst Traps

Are you familiar with gay athlete Jake Williamson? Well, not only is he a total stud, but he also doesn't mind teasing us with the occasional thirst trap, and he is breaking work records with his athleticism.

Jake is a competitor in HYROX, aka the fitness race. Held indoors, it combines 8 km of running with 8 different workout stations, alternating between running and functional exercises. The competition has earned the title "The World Series of Fitness Racing." Last weekend, Jake combined forces with fellow athlete Fabi Eisenlauer for the Men’s Open Doubles. The two broke the world record of 48-minute minutes by coming in at a tight 47:57. Phew! Check Jake out in action:

Jake has been involved in HYROX over the last four years, starting out as a soccer player and a personal trainer and becoming a big name in the competition. His social media fandom has included him as an influencer in Instagram's "Athletes for Purpose" campaign. The campaign began in 2013, highlighting sports players for their advocacy and activism. Jake told Outsports.com: “We all face struggles and we all have things we care about. Social media is such a powerful tool and it provides a platform that allows us to be natural, personal and authentic.”

On June 12th, he will head to Chicago to compete in the HYROX World Championships. He hopes to break another world record to coincide with Pride month, using his platform to spread awareness regarding gay representation in sports.

Jake has stated that HYROX is a welcome space for gay athletes. His time playing soccer was not as inclusive. After his coming out, he was excluded from a group chat and ostracized.

Yes, we love it when he shares his candid posts about his daily life, especially when he is changing his undies and earning a good sweat while working out, but he is also using his platform to increase representation for other gay athletes. He says his posts are not about desirability, but rather responsibility.
