Drage Race's Jiggly Caliente Passes Away
The queer and drag community is mourning a loss today as news hit the media that Drag Race personality Jiggly Caliente has passed away at the young age of 44. The performer, Bianca Castro-Arabejo, died from a severe infection. Jiggly's family released a statement today via her Instagram after a difficult week dealing with the infection. The statement included: “Bianca passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at 4:42 am, surrounded by her loving family and close friends.”

Three days ago, the Drag Race personality's family announced that Jiggly had to have most of her right leg amputated due to an infection and would be excusing herself from the spotlight. She was set to return as a judge for Drag Race Philippines.

Jiggly had a long-term relationship with Drag Race, first appearing on season 4 when the show was still on Logo. She made a guest appearance in seasons 6 and 10. She returned to compete for Drag Race All Stars in 2020 and appeared as a judge on Drag Race Philippines. In addition to Drag Race, she appeared as an actor on Pose, Broad City, and Search Party. She released her debut studio album T.H.O.T. Process in 2018. She made a special appearance on Saturday Night Live (alongside Drag Race alum Peppermint), and even performed backup for Christina Aguilera for Opening Ceremony's fashion show.
She moved to the US from the Philippines when she was 10 years old. Her name is based on the Pokémon Jigglypuff. Jiggly came out as trans in 2016 and has been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ issues.
