Porn King Reese Rideout Is He-Man!
Reese Rideout is the King of Porn with two decades of hot film work under his belt. Making a big splash with Randy Blue, he's become a staple in the gay adult film world and has expanded his brand to trans and straight content. His fans remain loyal and steadfast because his camera work just seems to get hotter and hotter and he continues to film with the hottest stars around as he maintains his status as a porn superstar. He is a Fleshbot Legacy Award Winner and took home a GayVN award this year. His true fans know that he also dabbles in mainstream film and has worked on independent features. He continues to challenge himself as a performer, and last week, Portland audiences got more than an eyeful as Reese took to the stage as He-Man in a musical parody titled She-Ra: Princess of Power. Yes, Reese sings and dances! While porn fans came to see him jiggle his junk, they were pleasantly surprised that his performing abilities are bona fide theatre worthy. By the Power of Greyskull!

We caught up with Reese right after his sold-out run of performances. Hopefully, the show will travel to a city near you!
How did the role of He-Man come about?
In 2016, I was invited to audition for the musical He-Man: Battle for Etheria. To my delight, I landed the role. I’m certain my physique played a significant part in the casting, but I’d like to believe my acting skills contributed as well. I’m no Josh Groban when it comes to singing, but I managed to hold my own. That production marked my first foray into theater, and it was an absolute blast. Some cast members later expressed interest in reviving the show with a fresh twist, which led us to create She-Ra: Princess of Power, a musical parody. In that second run, I truly found my footing as He-Man—my mannerisms and voice felt perfectly attuned to the character in this lighthearted, campy production.
Did you watch He-Man growing up? What was your relationship with the character before being cast?
Oh, absolutely—I adored watching He-Man as a kid. Born in 1982, I came into the world just as the show was taking off, and it quickly became a daily ritual for me. My brother and I would spend hours playing with those incredible toys. He-Man was a hero every youth could admire, and each episode delivered a valuable lesson. Our play echoed that spirit this time around—I got to teach the audience that it’s okay to seek help rather than tackling every challenge alone. In the story, She-Ra aided me in defeating Skeletor, reinforcing that message beautifully.

What did you love most about doing the show?
What I cherished most was the mental discipline it took to memorize all my lines and have them locked in my memory like clockwork. It was a fantastic way to keep my acting skills sharp, and working alongside such talented performers felt like iron sharpening iron. The camaraderie among the cast was phenomenal—meeting a mix of seasoned veterans and eager newcomers was a joy, and I learned something from everyone. Our director had a brilliant vision, ensuring we all eased into our roles with plenty of rehearsals. We completed four full run-throughs from curtain up to curtain down before opening night. The energy from the audience was electric—on opening night and throughout the run, they’d sing along to every song. I especially loved pausing for their laughter, milking every moment for more.
What were your biggest challenges in learning the role?
The toughest hurdle was balancing my travel schedule. I tackled it by bringing my script on flights, recording my co-stars’ lines, and practicing with those audio files while driving to the airport, during the hour-long commute to rehearsals, or even at the hotel. I also juggled smaller scripts for adult industry projects in between, but I stayed sharp by taking supplements for mental clarity and focus, ensuring I got enough sleep, and staying well-hydrated. I poured 110% into this play, and it paid off. But the toughest thing for me was that I had to just relinquish control. I had been waiting 20 years to film with a couple of these big, straight adult studios, and I finally got requested, but it was during the play run, and I couldn't accept the jobs. So I'm hoping I get cast again in some films with these large companies. But the experience playing He-Man in “A Touch Too Much" production was completely priceless.
There have long been jokes about He-Man being gay. Is he gay?
Our director, John Ryan, loves to jest that every character in He-Man and She-Ra is gay—and yes, it’s a topic that’s been debated for decades. Let’s be honest: his outfit does have a certain flamboyant flair, but in a bold, macho way. This production leaned into those rumors with gusto, making it a welcoming, inclusive experience for audiences of all backgrounds and orientations.
Would He-Man be a top or a bottom?
I’d wager He-Man would fancy himself a top when facing off with Skeletor, but he might switch to a bottom for fellow heroes like Bow or Seahawk. With his charisma, though, he’s probably fending off admirers left and right—there’s only so much action a guy can handle, even a hero like him!

You looked hot in the costume! Can we expect a gay porn version of He-Man starring you on the horizon?
Thanks—that’s a brilliant idea! I couldn’t keep the costume from this play, but I still have one from nine years ago. A He-Man-themed adult film could definitely be in the cards. I might even tease a He-Man strip on my Cameo page. The more I think about it, the more excited I get about filming something steamy in character.
The tiny furry trunks leave little to the imagination, and you can’t go wrong with wielding a big, shiny silver sword, a magic sword!
You also did a musical porn for Men.com - is there a musical career in your future?
Filming that musical adult film for Men.com with Dom King and Jake Preston was a riot. Director Michael and the crew poured so much into it—we spent three days shooting, including a full day in the studio recording vocals. I’ve been dabbling with more songs, usually working on them when inspiration strikes, and releasing singles here and there. If I could make a steady living from music, I’d love to pursue it further. For now, it’s a thrill to create and show folks I’ve got talents beyond adult films—it’s all part of building my entertainment cred. Some call themselves triple threats; I’m aiming for a multi-hyphenate: singing, acting, dancing, directing, videography, editing, marketing—you name it!
What is your message to your fans who came to see the play?
I’m beyond grateful to see familiar faces return from my first He-Man stint and thrilled to welcome so many new ones. Having my family pack 17 seats on closing night was a highlight, too. One evening, I even drove my second-grade buddy and his wife to the show—they couldn’t stop raving about it the whole way home. To all of you: thank you for making this experience unforgettable!
