Out Gay Soccer Stud Josh Cavallo Gets Intimate
We've had a crush on Australian footballer, um, soccer player for us in the US, Josh Cavallo, for a long time. He's got those twunk good looks and knows how to tear it up on the field. He represents an extremely low number of publicly out soccer players. That branch of sports is still very resistant to queer representation. Josh recently appeared on the sports podcast FIFPRO’s Footballers Unfiltered and got very intimate, sharing some candid facts about his life.

Josh first came out on social media in 2021, stating that he was battling his sexuality for over 6 years.

Josh said he never thought he would come out, but came out for himself, his family, the community, and for youth in sports who are in the closet.

Even as much as he enjoys his role as an ambassador for queer representation in sports, he shared intimate details about his coming out and says that he still receives death threats on a daily basis. He says the world of soccer is very toxic and not hospitable to queer players at all.

Josh still perseveres and has had a warm welcome by the queer community. We even appeared as a guest judge on Drag Race Down Under season 3.

And sorry, drooling gays, Josh is engaged. He got engaged to his fiancée Leighton Morrell last year. They make an adorable couple. No, we aren't jealous at all. Sigh.

Josh initially was interested in playing tennis, but fell in love with kicking the ball around with his brother. He was scouted at an early age. He currently plays as a left back and central midfielder for Adelaide United.

As a side project, he announced that he was building his own hotel called Cavallo Hideaway. We wonder if he'd ever deliver the room service himself. We'd order it all day!

Thank you, Josh for your queer representation. Keep up the good fight!
