Roman Mercury, Gay Porn Star, Dead at 45

The gay porn industry takes another hit as it was announced the popular adult industry star Roman Mercury is dead at age 45. His death came one day after TimTales founder Tim Kruger also passed away at age 44. Roman's good friend Greg Dixxon, a fellow adult figure, made a formal announcement to Out Magazine.

Roman's death was first shared on February 27th on X. Greg posted the following statement: “With profound sadness, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of (Roman). Roman left us unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of passion, talent, and kindness that touched the lives of so many around the world. Roman, you will always be missed, but never forgotten!”

Greg also shared that Roman's ashes would be spread somewhere in Southern California by his family.

Roman appeared in over 89 adult films with various studios, including Men At Play, Raging Stallion, and Raw Fuck Club. He made his debut in the adult industry in 2022, in a scene with Beau Butler. Roman earned his first GayVN nominations at this year's awards show for two group scenes he filmed.

He was born in Brazil but found adult work in the US. He became a fan favorite and very popular on social media and on the Fans sites. Personally, he is well remembered by Dixxon, he and Roman became fast friends after filming a scene together. Off-camera, Dixxon described him as eager to learn about the industry and please his many fans. Roman was also a smart guy, knowing how to speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian. He was also a former gymnast, and learned Russian while training there.

Tragically, Roman lost his husband last year. According to Dixxon, he was deeply affected but persistent to carry on. Roman died suddenly from a heart attack. One of Roman's last major appearances was at the Las Vegas GayVN awards, just a few weeks before his death.

Many from the adult film world have taken to social media to offer their condolences and fond memories. Although the news of his death was shared last month, it was caught up in the news of Kruger's death. Greg's chat with Out magazine has gone viral with media and adult studios sharing the news, giving Roman's death the attention that many believe he deserves.

RIP, Roman. You will be missed!
