Sniffies App Launched: No Downloads Refused
Well, thirsty gays, the wait is over. The Sniffies app has officially launched! Now, instead of having to log into your browser, you can just push an icon, and you will be on your way to hooking up. We love it when tech makes getting laid so much easier. We just want to know, what took so long?
Sniffies has been gaining in popularity, and 2024 was a big year for growth for the platform. (Better watch out, Grindr!) Sniffies released the following statement in a press release:
“For years, Sniffies has disrupted the way queer men connect, blending real-time exploration with digital precision. Now, with a native iOS app, it’s taking things to the next level — offering deeper integration, enhanced performance, and an even smoother, sex-positive experience. This isn’t just another hookup app — it’s a movement redefining what it means to explore, connect, and play.”
Sniffies has been a bit controversial. First of all, they allow full nudity on profile pictures. Secondly, the platform will literally tell you where to go cruise for sex. Should we be encouraging public sex? It still is illegal...but fun. Instead of seeing a grid of users, you can see who is close by you with exact locations. You can also easily arrange group events. There is little to no censorship as to what guys are looking for or what kind of photos are being shared. Got an extreme kink? Chances are, you will find someone close with your same interests.
A major bonus in using the app is the "Safe for Work" mode that will not display naughty pictures so you can search in public without having to hide your phone screen. You can also opt for notifications. Sniffies says that they will still be focusing on the website, the app is just an added bonus for users. As of now, the app is only available for iPhone. The company stated that an Android version is in the works.
The app took a while to hit the App Store because of Apple's restrictions on nudity. If you want your dick pic to be your profile pic, no one is stopping you. Many guys have flocked to Sniffies after complaining that Grindr has too many ads, has tech glitches, and is too expensive for the extra features.
Interesting fact about Sniffies, last year only 33% of users identified as gay. 50% identified as bisexual or curious. And, no homo bro, there was a 26% increase in "straight" users.
