Jessica Jasmin: Behind the Camera

Fleshbot is always happy to catch up with our friend, porn director/producer extraordinaire Jessica Jasmin. Especially when she has a hot new movie like "Honeyguide" out. This movie is much more than just a collection of sex scenes. Keeping with the trend of Disruptive Films, this is a full-fledged mystery film, with well-developed characters who all have ulterior motives and secrets. In a Fleshbot exclusive, Jessica shares with us her inspirations for the story, her thoughts on her cast, her filmmaking techniques, and what she hopes audiences will take away from the film.

What can you tell us about your new film? Title? Genre? Style?

Honeyguide is a psychological thriller that explores the complexities of human relationships and the thin line that exists between love and hate. At the film’s core is Alaric Spence, a man who harbors intense and destructive feelings for the object of his obsession, Brooks Dunham.

What would you say the film is basically about?

It’s a modern exploration of obsession and desire, told through an unpredictable script that keeps the audience guessing. As the story progresses, we peel back the layers of Alaric’s character, slowly revealing his true motives while realizing that we wish we knew less about this twisted soul.

What were some of your inspirations for this film?

One major inspiration was Saltburn by Emerald Fennell. The intense homoerotic tension in that film felt like it was begging to be reimagined into a gay porno. Barry Keoghan’s portrayal of a complex, morally ambiguous character was fascinating, and we wanted to take that a step further by exploring someone who manipulates and takes what they want without remorse—a sociopath.

The movie aligns perfectly with the spirit of Disruptive Films. We’re focused on creating films with complex characters that develop naturally, even within a limited number of scenes.

Tell us about your cast. Who plays which characters?

Hoss Kado delivers a phenomenal performance as Alaric Spence. I can’t praise him enough for the way he embodied this role—he brought so much nuance to the character. Kam Stone plays Brooks Dunham, the innocent, popular jock. This was Kam’s first big feature, and he absolutely nailed it. He captured Brooks’s charm and vulnerability with ease.

The chemistry between Hoss and Kam was incredible. They are polar opposites in personality and body type, which added so much authenticity to their dynamic.

In addition to our lead actors, we had a stellar supporting cast, including Bruce Jones, Ian Holms, Trevor Brooks, and Sam Ledger. Kenzie Taylor also made a special appearance, adding even more star power to the production.

How does Jessica Jasmin cast a movie?

Casting is always a challenge. It's difficult to predict chemistry between actors before they’re on set. I met Kam in January and immediately knew he was perfect for the role. Hoss, on the other hand, has been someone I’ve wanted to work with for a while. His past performances with Disruptive Films have been outstanding, so it was a no-brainer to give him this significant role.

For the rest of the cast, I aimed to find performers who could believably fit into the same world and even look like they could be from the same family. Sam Ledger was cast as Brooks's love interest. Thanks to his recent work, it was a natural choice.

What are some of the added benefits and challenges of creating a porn film with such an elaborate story and production?

One of the biggest challenges is making sure that nothing feels like an afterthought. The goal from pre-production onward is to tell a compelling story and integrate sex scenes in a way that feels authentic. We don’t add sex scenes just for the sake of it—they have to make sense within the narrative.

On the production side, managing a complex story while keeping things moving on a tight schedule is no small feat. Unexpected issues arise daily, and we need quick solutions to stay on track. It’s also a challenge for the performers to balance acting and intimate scenes. They need to come to set fully prepared, and I give them full credit for delivering on every front.

The long days are tough on the crew, but when we see the finished product, it’s incredibly rewarding. We’re really proud of what we achieved and how we’ve raised the bar for ourselves.

Do you have any favorite scenes or collaborations that stand out as the centerpiece of the film?

Definitely the scene between Kam and Sam. It’s a beautiful and pivotal moment. Alaric watches them have sex, imagining himself as part of it. The lighting is stunning, making Kam and Sam look like they’re glowing.

In this scene, Ethan (played by Sam) tries to define his relationship with Brooks. Brooks, bathed in white light, laughs it off, marking the last time we see him. His sudden exit from the story is shocking, leaving the audience wondering, “Wait, what just happened?”

From there, the film shifts focus to Alaric, who stays at the Dunhams house even after Brooks is gone, and his attention turns to Brooks's older brother. This is where Alaric’s motives become clearer, slowly unraveling as the film progresses.

What do you want audiences to take away from the film?

We want viewers to appreciate the hard work that went into making this film—from Taylor Saracen’s script to Joel Sinclair’s brilliant work on the lighting. Every member of the team poured their creativity into this project, and we hope that shines through.

I want the audience to experience it as a cohesive film, not just a series of disconnected scenes. Hoss Kado’s performance, in particular, is something I hope stays with viewers—it was a masterclass in acting that left the entire crew in awe.

Will there be a sequel or follow-up?

I don’t think there will be a sequel. Alaric’s story feels complete—he achieved what he set out to from the very beginning.

At Disruptive Films, we tend to focus on creating standalone pieces that capture a moment in time. Our characters live within their own timelines, and while they might make a comeback, it’s more likely that their stories stay contained within that space. But, of course, you never know!
