Zak Anderson: The Muscles, The Music, The Man

BAREBACK

Zak Anderson shirtless Q&A episode graphic

"It's the best thing I've ever done!"

That is how newcomer Zak Anderson describes his first experience making porn. These are powerful words from a man who is already an enormously successful career as a model, musician, dancer, singer, aerialist, DJ, interior designer, and physical trainer. But all these successful careers still weren't enough for this beautiful and very (very) sexual artist. This year, Zak has added pornography to his list of achievements. In his first interview as an adult performer, he tells us all about his happy upbringing in Sweden, his varied and successful career as a musician, his love of the finest things in life, and how he has reached his highest levels of happiness by sharing all of his beautiful self on film and how he hopes it is just the beginning.

Let's start with a few basics: Name? Age? Hometown? Occupation?

I'm Zak Anderson. I am 43. I live in London, but I’m originally from Gothenburg Sweden. When I’m not in a studio shooting gay porn, I work as a personal trainer and fitness professional. On top of this, I also DJ on the weekends in several different venues here in London.

How did you create your stage name?

Zak has always existed. Already at a young age, I blamed Zak for anything I did that could be naughty. Zak was always the crazy part of me who did anything that wasn’t allowed. Two years ago at Pride, I was out and about and got invited to do an unplanned live performance. Zak of course said yes and simply because Anderson is the most common surname in Sweden I used that. It just happened and it felt right. Zak Anderson was officially born.

Could you share some of your background with us? How was your upbringing in Sweden? What is the gay culture like there? How did that develop who you are?

Living in Sweden is fantastic. It's open-minded and inclusive. I think Swedes are sometimes lightyears ahead of other countries in certain ways. There is some bullying and mean people, but I was lucky enough to not usually be the target. Though it did happen. I come from a big family with three siblings and my parents were extremely strict about teaching us respect for others, understanding people’s differences, their beliefs, their backgrounds, etc. etc.
My mother loved a Swedish group of Drag Queens, so I was introduced to the art of Drag performing at a very early age. I think my parents said they started to think I might be gay at a young age. I always knew I was, and my parents knew, my siblings, and even my grandparents. There was never even a coming out moment, because it was always natural and everyone knew. Being able to live as exactly as who I am is a blessing and I am really happy to have had the most amazing people around me growing up. Gay culture in Sweden is not as intense as it is here in London. In big cities I think you can create big events and push the boundaries a lot more. There are no limitations. In a small town, being gay is probably not going to be welcomed with the same open mindset as in a big city where people are exposed to more diversity, differences, and opportunities. For that reason, I came here to explore, and being in it for several years you become used to it.

London is such a peerless, unique, and cosmopolitan city and such a splendid place to explore yourself. It’s impossible to compare with a big city in Sweden still only hosting ten percent of the population of London.
Even if my upbringing was very open-minded, I still felt a final moment of complete relief and a freedom of expression when moving here.

Tell us about your work as a dancer, musician, &DJ.

Like many other boys like myself, I started off in ballet school at the age of 8. Although I liked it, it wasn’t exactly right for me. I didn’t feel like I belonged there so I moved over to commercial dance and it suited me so much better. I've been dancing my whole life and it’s a passion I will always carry with me. At the age of 23, Nike saw me teaching and then signed me to a contract. I was sponsored as a Dance Athlete for ten years with them. I still teach dance classes but only a few times per week. I have a background as an Interior and Furniture Designer, I still do projects but not on the same level. I was invited by a hotel chain to come to London and work for them 12 years ago, setting up the rooms, decorating, looking after VIP events, etc. I worked for them for nearly two years and it was one of the most creative and fun jobs I've ever had, but I am not going to lie that they were the worst people I ever worked for. It could possibly be enough for a book, or a lawsuit... One day I had had enough so I simply just took my stuff and walked out.

Not knowing where to go next, I said to my friend I should run away with a circus and the idea just planted a seed so I signed up for trapeze school. Now the trapeze is my absolute favorite piece of equipment, I do some silk and hammocks but trapeze will always be my first love. I did a lot of performance in the past, but my body is telling me that I’m a bit too old now.

The DJing comes naturally from the dance classes. I mix all my own music for classes and that just simply leads to playing live. I started off in some small venues and the bookings started to come in and now I’m a resident DJ at some cool places here in London.

Why do you love music and dance?

I love how music can make such an impact on your mood, how you feel, it can even change your heartbeat. Music is such a strong tool to change everything. Dancing is an extension of the impact of music, so there's no question of why I love it. Music and dance unite people.

How did all this transition into gay porn?

I call this bit “The power of porn”. We all have a dark chapter in our book of life whether it's eating disorders, addictions, body dysmorphia, or anything else where we get affected by our own brain and our belief system.
I myself had my own struggles and after years of fear of being too skinny, not enough, being too this or that, I did a photoshoot with a photographer I really admire. I was terrified but I decided to go ahead.

I remember it so well because when I received my first photo on the 19th of April, it took me the whole night to wonder if I should post it or not. I wasn’t sure because I looked at the photo and I looked ok, but at the same time, I was terrified. However on the morning of the 20th of April 2023, I pressed the post button, and the feedback, likes, comments, and messages were so overwhelming. I actually cried the whole day, not only because I was happy, but I was wondering why I had been so mean to myself for all these years. A few days later I made the decision to break up with the scale. Being one who checked my weight to not lose any of it three times per day, it was a big step and it was such a relief for me. I always think of that day as the day I was reborn.

With the photos posted, I got offered more and more shoots and also was told several times to monetize my “package." I started to do some nude photos. I waited a bit to post any of them, but in January of this year I said, let's see what’s going to happen and it was well received. I didn’t do any porn or sex videos until I was invited to by Sean Cody. When they asked me if I was interested, I first said no, but then I thought, why not? Let’s just do it. It’s the best thing I've ever done! I am not going to lie, I was so nervous and struggled a little bit to perform on my first day, but coming home from the shoot I felt so free. It's crazy how it made me feel so free in my sexuality, free to express myself, and my preferences. I love to have sex and I finally did something to tear down walls of fear and completely explore everything in sex. Also receiving feedback from friends felt amazing. I feel like now when I've done porn, I can do anything. I think everyone should do some porn! The world would be a much better place if.

Do you think your work as a dancer and performer has helped you in your new porn career? How so?

Absolutely! It definitely helped, but also did not. As performers we are always looking for perfection and esthetics, we are hard on ourselves, it helps to be aware but when that little troll starts to talk on your shoulder it is sometimes hard to let go. I mean, it helps to have a background going on stage and being able to get into a role. However, being on stage you must get into a character and that’s challenging sometimes. Porn on the other hand, for example being fucked by Levi was amazing, there was not much trying to pretend or being in a character there. I enjoyed it very much.

Tell us about your recent venture into studio work. How was that experience for you? Surprises? Challenges?

It was so much harder than I thought. My first day with Sean Cody was a challenge. I had an 11-hour flight the day before, went to bed, and didn't sleep. I was severely jet lagged, nervous, and there were just so many impressions. But everyone was so amazing, so kind and caring so I didn’t want to let anyone down. I am 100% honest when I say that I was treated better at the studio then in any other professional capacity I have ever been in. I had a great time filming and even though it was hard, I have to say it was a wonderful experience.

How do you like studio work vs OnlyFans work? Any preference? Why?

Studio, studio, studio. OF is also fun and easier. But I prefer studio. If I could do studio work full time I would. It's just a different feel and I really enjoy it.

What are your plans and ambitions in the industry moving forward? Any dream scenarios? Scene partners?

I’m still new in this industry so I just take it day by day. I'm doing my best to get some more studio shoots so hopefully I will be on your late-night computer screen soon. I really want to shoot for Men.com one day and I absolutely have several scene partners in my mind. I already did a scene with Levi and wish to do it again, but also Casey Everett because I find him adorable, and also Mr Deep Voice, Malik Delgaty, and Arad Winwin just to name a few.

Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of porn. Interests? Hobbies? Beliefs?

Classical music, opera, and theatre have always mesmerized me. The way the opera touches me is indescribable. I love to spend a night at the opera house. I have a weak spot for commercial operas like Tosca and Carmen, but I also love the Bel Canto stuff like Lucia di Lammermoor. With no regrets, my favorite opera of all time must be Alcina by Handel. It is such a unique piece of art and I will always buy tickets if I see it anywhere. I am a classically trained singer and was singing a lot before I moved to London. I was in several productions and one of my biggest ones was The Magic Flute so obviously Mozart will always have a bit of my heart as well.

I also love the gym. Working out is a huge part of my life and I do not function if I can’t do the gym properly. I love the feeling of hitting the weights. A lot of my friends actually like to join me for my sessions. It’s just a great time to catch up, talk about life and lift heavy.

Who is the real Zak?

Zak is a football player. Zak likes his bottoms. He knows what he wants and definitely fucks the hell out of any boy who challenges him. Regardless, Zak is still caring. I love the act of giving pleasure. There is nothing more fulfilling than making a memorable moment of sex with someone.

How do you define a true "Porn Star"?

After just a short time in the industry, I have such respect for the big names. This is not as easy as I thought it was and although it's fun, it also comes with a lot of work, preparation, and a strong mind set. I think a true porn star is someone who can perform in a way that makes us forget about the rest of the world for a moment and get so aroused by what we watch that we just enjoy ourselves while we do.

Is Zak Anderson going to become one? How?

I will do my very best to become one. It’s definitely a goal for me. They say practice makes perfect and to practice a lot I always need a hand, so any help is welcome. Just DM me…

What is your favorite thing about sex?

When it’s done the right way, the connection, the feeling, and the way it unites people is beyond incredible. Though it sometimes disturbs the rest of the people on the same flight.
