X-Men '97' Creator Beau DeMayo Spills the Tea About "Being Fired"
WTF is happening over at Marvel and why are we watching their stuff? Beau DeMayo, a member of the gay community, was the mastermind behind the first two seasons of X-Men '97. The first season of X-Men '97 was hugely successful for Disney+ and Marvel. Like, HUGE. And given the load of crap that Marvel has released as of late, it was a very welcome addition to the library. Before the series premiered, Marvel apparently fired DeMayo, stating “Given the egregious nature of the findings, we severed ties with him immediately and he has no further affiliation with Marvel.” Egregious? Ok, Marvel, spill the tea. What was it? Social media went crazy with everyone having their own assumption, but most agreed it was because he posted a lot about his gay life on social media and had a (non-nude) OnlyFans. DeMayo was also a writer on the Marvel series Moon Knight and a screenwriter for the studio's debacle of the Blade reboot. Well, last month, Marvel let DeMayo know that he would not be listed as a writer for the upcoming season 2 of X-Men '97. WTF, like he literally wrote on the show and we all know it. Not only does this affect his credits, it will affect his paycheck as well. Now DeMayo and Marvel are in a social media catfight and our gay hero isn't staying quiet anymore and is spilling all the tea.
“The truth will be revealed. After their Disney Plus disaster, Marvel wants to mislead with alleged contract breaches over tweets. It’s tragic it’s come to this but unsurprising. Stay tuned.” https://t.co/D4d5tXfPP0

DeMayo made a social media post for Pride with the following fan art. He states that a few days later, they let him know his screenwriting credits were being voided.
Firstly, I’m so grateful to have worked on #XMen97, collaborating with some amazingly talented folks. Creating this revival was a dream come true and the support fans have shown is so touching. However, I felt it pressing for me to speak up in the wake of leaving the show… pic.twitter.com/kbOTL3IQJj

DeMayo is not keeping quiet anymore and posted a half hour video via his OnlyFans saying that his firing was due to him being black and gay. DeMayo threw Marvel's "egregious" descriptive back in their face, saying it was their egregious prejudicial misconduct.

Variety reported that sources shared that he was fired for sexual misconduct, being physically inappropriate with colleagues and sending sexual images. He denies it and says it is part of the studios smear campaign. He is taking legal action. Pretty big balls to take on Marvel, but he is confident. "I have the receipts and the eyewitnesses so long as you stop coercing them to lie," Deadline quoted DeMayo declaring; "you can keep attacking me with lies and misinformation, but we can become the ugliest, most annoying version of that of that," he continued, "or you can start acting like a studio that is worthy of a show like 'X Men '97.'"
WERK!
