The Male Cheerleaders of NFL

If you are a fan of football, or just like to watch the guys in jockstraps and spandex, you may have noticed a growing contingent of male cheerleaders doing the damn thing. In an industry that was only female, now 1/3 of the teams are now boasting male cheerleaders among their numbers. This was all started when Quinton Peron and Napoleon Jinnies audition for the Los Angeles Rams team and somehow made it to the end, challenging the female-only gig. They have moved on from the Rams, but their legacy started a movement.

Some of the teams include the men as part of the dance routines, some only use them for the stunts, but little by little, they are gaining traction. We wanted to highlight a few of the men representing and making a male cheerleader in the NFL a thing. WERK!

Bryan with the RAMS

Bryan was born in Inglewood and now he's cheering at the SoFi Stadium in that same town as a proud member of the LA Rams.

Eswinn with the RAMS

Also part of the LA Rams is Eswinn, aka the Energizer Bunny. Hailing from Long Beach, California, he is just a bundle of cuteness. With the team, he took part in Superbowl 56. He told the Rams, "Being a Rams Cheerleader means that I have a voice for so many boys and girls who maybe don't believe in themselves to be who they want to be simply because they don't feel like they belong, or might be scared to take that first step to follow their dreams for whatever reason. To be able to inspire and encourage the youth in so many ways being a rams cheerleader, it means the world to me."

James with the Philadelphia Eagles

This male cheerleader is also a special education teacher. In addition to being a dancer, he is also an avid gymnast. He's also quite popular on TikTok.

Jaedin from the Seattle Seahawks

This is Jaedin's first year as a male cheerleader. He hails from Houston, Texas, and was part of his college dance team in Virginia.

Steven with the New England Patriots

Steven was a dance major at Dean College and made it through the arduous audition and boot camp to become part of the New England Patriots, a role he's had for a few years now. Part of the trailblazing core making being a male cheerleader just part of the norm.
