Kamala Harris's Drag Race Appearance Has Evangelicals Clutching Their Pearls

Yer boy Hank here is gonna spread a little hate. Sorry. But sometimes, I'm often so behind in all things cultural and the zeitgeist has left me in the dust. It's only when I come across a-holes all up in arms against something I think is pretty darned cool that I find out that cool things are actually happening! And so it goes when I came across a recent post on the always-awesome JoeMyGod that our new queen Kamala Harris made an appearance on a recent taping of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season nine finale! And of course, the conservative litter-ati were ubiquitously up in arms.

For example:

Kamala, surrounded by openly gay celebs Lance Bass and Cheyenne Jackson stated what we know as truth, that “Each day we are seeing our rights and freedoms under attack, including the right of everyone to be who they are, love who they love, openly and with pride...So, as we fight back against these attacks, let’s all remember no one is alone.”

What's amazing is the audacity with which conservative talking heads and lazy bloggers like Christian groomer/pastor Ben Johnson over at The Washington Stand denigrate and denounce Harris's heartfelt words with pithy, offhanded nonsense. Kamala's statement that rights and freedoms are under attack are made "without proof"; that Drag Race is "glamorizing gender confusion"; and the Anton LeVey lookalike even threw in some pandemic lockdown shade by describing the words "no one is alone" as being a "favorite lie of the 2020 lockdown supporters."

Ugh...they're exhausting! but maybe that's the point, the slow whittling away at our patience through small paper cuts of denigration until we just stop paying attention and look away. NEVER LOOK AWAY FROM THEM PEOPLE! Always keep your eye trained on these rabid pearl clutchers!

Sorry, where was I. Oh yeah! Johnson then went on to callously call the gathered group sacrilegious for using the term "AMEN!" and then accused them of encouraging the murder of children with the phrase "Slay, Queen!" Yeah...he went there. Oh, and he also equates teacher's unions with drag queens when it comes to an ominous portent of things to come.

Sometimes it's the opponents who remind us of the great things we're in support of.

Thanks, ironically-named homophobe Donna Summers, for reminding us of her support of trans folks when it comes to bathrooms!

So what other politicians have appeared on Drag Race?

To which this mouth-breathing incel I'd totally bend over and grudge-f*** (because, ya know, Bears!) had to chime in with:

From the Olympics opening ceremonies to Kamala Harris to, well, literally everything else that has ever occurred that doesn't directly address you or your immediate needs, I'd like to thank you, the Great Befuddle Masses, for keeping these important issues in front of my eyeballs. Otherwise, I'd never have known or completely forgotten about!
