Jessica Jasmin: The Latest at Disruptive Films

Over the last couple of years, the major Porn studios seem to be making a return to the big epic and glamorous feature films with full plots and twists. Nowadays they are daring to be more provocative and unbridled than ever. At the forefront of this renaissance is Disruptive Studios and one of their head producers and directors Jessica Jasmin. In addition to being a great creative filmmaker (and not just adult films), Jessica is rapidly establishing herself as an astute businesswoman who has brought the still relatively new studio to a whole new level of prestige in the industry. She provided us with an exclusive look at their latest project, Honeyguide.

So what is the latest with filmmaker Jessica Jasmin? How is 2024 treating you?

2024 has been challenging so far! The world is evolving and so is porn. We always have to be on our toes and be ready to pivot. Compliance initiatives have rocked our world lately. But in the end, they’re a good thing and it’s the only way for us to make porn professionally.

Honeyguide is my big project of the year. Other than that, I didn’t direct as much as I’d wish–but the year’s not over yet! I’ve been doing a lot of behind-the-scenes as a producer. We have many exciting content coming to Disruptive Films such as Micah Martinez’s directorial debut for the brand.

What are some of the latest projects you have in the works at Disruptive Films?

This year, I teamed up with Michael Vegas and Siouxsie Q. for another feature: Honeyguide. We were inspired by Saltburn. I’m really excited for everyone to watch this feature. It’s such an intriguing story and goes in-depth into the character’s twisted mind. Taylor Saracen, Disruptive’s writer, was able to put together this powerful complex story, and Michael, Siouxsie, and I worked together to create images for this monster. I’m very proud of this one. It's currently in the post-production phase and it's all coming together beautifully.

We also have a brand new line that we are hoping to launch in the near future. It’s something we’ve never done before and focused on kinks!

What do you think makes these new productions extra special? Could you share with us some of the performers in your new films and what they've brought to the project?

Not to sound like a broken record, but it’s worth repeating. It’s the teamwork. Teamwork makes our projects special. From the writer’s room to production and being on set, each person makes such a huge contribution to a project like Honeyguide. Their hard work elevates the end product.

The crew is definitively an integral part of the success. They are the unsung heroes. Joel Sinclair, our gaffer, literally created magic with the way he manipulated light. And our PMs created a great atmosphere on set.

Most importantly, our actors also put in the work! Every one of them came in prepared and ready to tackle their roles. Hoss (Kado) was such a pleasant discovery. He’s an amazing actor/performer. He understood Alaric, his character, and made him his own. He took the character to the next level and made artistic decisions that we were so pleased with. We were all blown away by his talent.

The more elaborate studio productions, with plots and more complex characters and settings, seem to have been making a real comeback over the last year or two. What do you think of this new trend and your involvement in it?

I’d like to think Disruptive Films opened the doors for other studios to take risks. I manage straight brands and it’s something we have been doing for years. When Bree Mills and I built Disruptive Films, we created an outlet for talent to put their acting chops to the test. As the brand grew, it was one thing that kept coming back to us, how much the guys loved working on their roles. In my opinion, the performers are the ones that contributed the most to this comeback.

What do you think the inclusion of a story (as opposed to just sex scenes) does to a porn film overall?

It makes it 1,000,000 times better! The quality that we are able to put out there with such strong storylines, the best cinematographers, and in-depth characters rivals any Netflix-Amazon show. But we have the added bonus of real sex! Movies and television shows are such a big part of everyone’s life and it's very rare to see full sex scenes on mainstream TV. If anything, you’ll see fandoms created on the side and those viewers wishing they could see ‘’more’’ of their favorite character. Just think about Joe Goldberg from ‘’You,’’ and all the people thirsting over him. Porn with a story offers the best of both worlds.

Could you share with us a few story ideas you have yet to film that you would like to make in the future?

I know my writer, Taylor, has many many many concepts up her sleeves. She never lacks ideas. I will say, there are many genres I want to tackle. For example, horror is a passion of mine and I’d like to make porn horror film even if I know it’s very niche.

Who are some performers you've yet to work with but want to? Why these performers?

Derek Kage is up there. I got to spend some time with him at the XBIZ awards this past January and not only is he handsome but was such a sweet and down-to-earth guy. I’ll always remember winning Gay Feature of the Year and then celebrating Derek’s win as well backstage. It was a beautiful moment we all shared.

Jayden Marcos, one of our exclusives, is also on my list. He can play several types of roles so seamlessly. I’d love to direct him in the type of role he hasn’t had yet. Something darker. There is just something fascinating about a pretty face and a personality that doesn’t match it.

How's everything with YOU? What is Jessica up to in 2024 other than making great porn?

Thank you for asking! Aside from growing my career, I am a pretty basic suburban mom trying to make the most out of summer. That means a lot of pool and beach time. I wish I had some grandiose plan to share with you for 2024, but my career is what stimulates me and pushes me forward. So I’m focused on that!
