It's Pride on Max: Storytelling, Partnerships, Content, & Events
HBO Max has always been inclusive of the LGBTQ community in its programming and storytelling. Well, they are amping things up even more for Pride Month, with special programming, in-app content, live events, and a partnership with NewFest. They've added the tag lines "The One to Watch" to "Feel Your Pride" to add to the month's festivities.
Here are some of Max's queer content to keep the Pride celebration going.
Gaga's Chromatica Ball
I mean, can you get gayer than Gaga and her Monsters? This is the cinematic recording of her performance at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles during her 2022 Chromatica Ball Tour to over 52,000 people. This is her seventh headlining tour show and features the music from her 6th studio album.
We're Here
This season of We're Here features drag queens Sasha Velour, Priyanka, Jaida Essence Hall, and Latrice Royale as they spread their message of love and art through drag throughout small-town America including Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, and their surrounding towns. They also address and work through the recent anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and how it affects the community. This show has earned Max Emmy and GLAAD awards. This show is now in its 4th season.
Fantasmas
Brought to you by mastermind Julio Torres (Max's Los Espookys), Fantasmas is a surrealistic and dreamy version of New York City filled with a bevy of guest stars including Steve Buscemi, Paul Dano, Julia Fox, Emma Stone, Aidy Bryant, Bowen Yang, Kim Petras, and Dylan O'Brien in red lingerie!
Trixie Motel: Drag Me Home
This show follows the lives of Trixie Mattel and her partner David as they move in together and run their hotel in Palm Springs, CA.
Am I Ok?
This Sundance film gem features Dakota Johnson and is directed by co-directed by Tig Notaro. Dakota plays a 32-year-old woman who comes to the realization that she is lesbian and decides to come out with the help of her best friend.
Max will also be adding to their LGBTQ+ Voices page with "Presenting with Pride," "Pride in Every Story," " Beyond the Binary," and "Queer Film Club," accompanied by customer artwork and more.
Along with Human by Orientation, Max will host an in-person official "House of Drag" viewing party in honor of the premiere of season 2 of House of Dragon. This will take place on Sunday, June 16th in Brooklyn, New York. It will be hosted by Priyanka. Viewing party tickets. You can try and get tickets HERE.
Max will also partner with NewFest this weekend during their Pride Festival (May 30-June 3) with virtual and in-person screenings of LGBTQ content.
