Did you know penguins can form same-sex bonding relationships? Did you know lions can display sexuality towards both sexes? Did you know clownfish can pull a "Left Hand of Darkness" and change their sex as they see fit? Well, scientists did, and you will too when you check out the new animal documentary on Peacock, Queer Planet. And now, unfortunately, so do the knuckle-dragging denizens of the internet who would love for nothing more than a world in which, for instance, Harrison Butker is Trump's running mate. And they ain't too happy about it!
The channel describes the film thus:
"This documentary looks at extraordinary creatures, witnesses amazing behaviors, and introduces the scientists who are questioning the traditional concept of what’s natural when it comes to sex and gender."
But many conservatives are afraid it's a herald of the End Times, Satanic, and another way queers will recruit children. (Side note...why are the children of conservatives so gosh-darn easy to recruit? Jeez, it's like they're raised up by Trump-loving, Bible-thumping patriots, but one drag queen story hour or mention that two penguins with dicks show a fondness for each other and before you know it little Johnny is turning tricks at the bus station and little Suzy has gotten her welder's certificate and insists on being called "they!" Anyway...)
Just take a gander at the misinformed circus over at End Wokeness on X/Twitter.
"Queer Planet" will be released in June.
The documentary by NBC is focused on "LGBTQI+ tolerance" among the animal kingdom…

Narrated by openly gay actor Andrew Rannells, the documentary explores the wide world of sexuality in the animal kingdom, and the shifting ways it can manifest. Rather than a rigid, fixed set of rules, sexuality in animals, as in humans, can change its position on a spectrum, unrestrained by ego, insecurity, religion or even thought.
But tell that to some of the commenters on the YouTube channel where the trailer is posted. They range from "Just deleted my Peacock account" to "Just when you think woke clown world can’t outdo itself … it does" and this little gem of intellectual argumentation: "Animals do it so you should too." That was from someone named @TexasTimeLord. Color me shocked. Even Sandy Hook denier and believer that chemicals in the water turn frogs gay got into the fray. Because, ya know, of course he did:

Luckily the upcoming show isn't without its ardent supporters, encapsulated in this post:
I’m so excited for this! Even more science to prove being LGBTQ is natural and present in hundreds of animal species, so can’t possibly be a “human social contagion.” Expand your mind and weaponize your allyship with cool scientific facts (and adorable critters) https://t.co/dgXLlYlGYe

Incidentally, thanks to Dr. Wilkinson for pointing out this fact:
also, this was released last year in several other countries without this kind of backlash. only in the USA
