Arizona Cardinals’ Trey McBride Sends Jersey to Young Bill’s Fan and Makes a Same-Sex Parents Connection

By now we've all heard of that Chiefs's commencement speech in which Harrison Butker showed his true feelings about working women, the LGBTQ+ community, and the importance of his religion in a grandly tone-deaf display of butt-hurt male pride and insecurity. Even teammate Travis Kelce explained his disapproval of his words on his recent podcast. Luckily, for every Butker, there's a Trey McBride who knows how to display real kindness and compassion.

As reported by Cyd Zeigler over at Outsports, McBride, the Cardinals' Tight End, became aware of a young Buffalo Bills fan, Forge. The young opposing team fan happens to be the son of the Rainbowdads, who use their online presence and Bills fandom to raise awareness for LGBTQ+ family equity and various issues close to their hearts.

McBride was raised by two moms, and couldn't be more proud of his parents and how he was raised. He reached out to  Forge, making the connection through their shared experience of being raised by same-sex parents. He sent him a Cardinals jersey with a special message, and the result was, well...I'M NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING! Just watch the video below.

Now that is how you forge connections! (Heh, see what I did there?) They were united through football, their parentage, and created what we hope will be a lifelong bond of friendship. And that's why we all love a good tight end!

Speaking of Rainbowdads' philanthropy, one of their current projects is working with the Bills to raise thousands of LGBTQ+-related literature for young people to be distributed for the upcoming Buffalo Pride.

Papa had some choice words for Butker regarding his commencement speech and how it unwittingly helped in their book drive!

Look how fantastic this family is with each other and how they choose to handle dissenters with humor.
