Tom Daley Confirmed For His Last Olympics
It is confirmed! Four-time medal-winning Olympic swimmer Tom Daley has been confirmed to attend his fifth (and final) Olympics this year's Paris Summer Olympics. We will compete alongside Noah Willamson, representing Great Britain, in synchronized diving. The British Olympic Association released the news this week that not only did the pair qualify for the Games, but that they were also secured a spot.

Daley started diving when he was 7 years old and was already competing nationally and internationally when he was 9. For the 2008 Summer Olympics, he became Britain's youngest athlete to compete, and the youngest from any nation to reach finals. Because of his charming personality (and let's face it, good looks), he quickly became a fan favorite and a poster boy for the sport. In 2020, at the Tokyo Summer Games, he became the first diver from Great Britain to earn four Olympic medals - one gold, and three bronze. If he wins a medal at this year's Games, he will join a very small group of five-time medal winners that include fellow queer athlete Greg Louganis.

Ten years ago, Daley took to his YouTube channel and posted a coming out video, it has since garnered over 13 million views, going viral and making headlines.
His channel remains very popular, and after a brief stint, came back full force.
He has since become an avid LGBTQ activist, married Hollywood elite Dustin Lance Black, and has two sons - age 6 and 1. He had stepped away from competitive diving but returned so his oldest son could see him in person at an Olympic game.

In addition to his role in sports, Tom has become a TV personality and pop culture personality. Fun fact, he started knitting during COVID and was often seen at diving events crocheting. He even has an Instagram for his hobby. Showing us how he knits shirtless certainly steams up the game.

Last month, he released his first children's book. Titled Jack Splash, it is a crazy adventure centered around Jack, a not-so-good diver who is trying to impress his coach father.

Our eye will definitely be on Tom this summer (for many different reasons), we have never wanted to be a speedo so badly in our lives. Good luck, Tom!
