So yesterday yer boy Hank here is scrolling through Facebook because, well, I'm old. Shut up! A friend posted his reaction to the latest Bear drama, and I thought "Oh lawdy, child, what's a pretty heifer done now?" It seems that the rapper/performer/go-go boy/podcaster and now serial hook-up ghoster Big Dipper has dropped some personal info on his Sloppy Seconds podcast in which he revealed his penchant for giving out a fake address to potential hook-up app responders so he can check out their physical worthiness from across the street before he decides to commit. For transparency's sake, let's let him explain it in his own words:
Is @BigDipperJelly messed up for doing this?? pic.twitter.com/SfX0isV9g8

So yeah, apparently that's a thing to not only do, but announce in public, and use the clip to publicize the episode! He was speaking with his cohost, the hilarious drag queen Meatball who read him to filth, calling him "sick." When she asked their guest, the inimitable BenDeLaCreme "Is this fucked?" who replied, "This is deeply fucked up." I mean, the side eye speaks volumes! Oh the cringe of it all!
Naturally, people came out of the woodwork to speak their minds. Commenters of my friend's post ranged from "Ick," "So gross," and "Fuck him...or don't," to "He's not even that attractive," and "It's nice to see people are starting to see him for who he really is." I personally enjoyed another comment that mentioned another Bear singer and visual artist, Kendall Kelly: "I’ve known about him for years and my biggest annoyance with him is how all his songs and performances all felt like copies of Kendall’s work." Side note, I've met Kendall, a super nice guy, and yeah, very sexy and talented. Check out his silly and sexy video for one of his first songs, "Bears."
Let's talk about safety for a sec. Big Dipper makes the claim that he does this out of his safety, yet he seems ambivalent about the responders' safety, or the safety issue of hooking up with strangers sight unseen. Because, sure, if you see them from a couple of stories up from your window and they look hot from that distance, then they must be completely legit and sane and nothing wrong could ever go wrong!
Not gonna lie, "lemme put my hookup AND unsuspecting strangers in potential danger so I can decide if I wanna fuck or ghost tonight" is unquestionably messed up.
I legit hope this exchange was actually enlightening and results in him not doing that anymore because... oof.

Good for Meatball and Ben for calling this out, this gave me a sinking feeling in my stomach listening to. Like the type where I can’t believe someone actually does this?

Interestingly, as Out.com reports, while the clip is being shared on their X and TikTok accounts, this particular moment was left off the longer YouTube video of the podcast, and he doesn't have it posted on his personal X account. Huh...
Now, is he gonna get canceled? Eh, my guess is no, though I could be wrong. Like many online snafus, it'll all get laughed off in the end and he'll be shaking his groove thing in front of a barful of guys who wanna fuck him in no time. Because let's face it, we're thinking with our dicks, most of the time, and our temporary internet rage du jour will get put on the back burner. And if you were never a follower of his, it makes no difference anyway. Or as Lumbersnack puts it:
thank god dipper’s music is insufferable so I don’t have to boycott
