Ben Platt Drops New Single "Andrew"
Just in time for the weekend, actor and musician Ben Platt dropped a new single from his forthcoming, third studio album. Titled "Andrew," it is simple, serene, and sexy. Ben Platt drops the pomp and circumstance to bring us this sensual ballad. It's a bit folky, it's acoustic, and his voice just soars.
Now we need to know who Andrew is with lyrics like, "His hair falls in cool, careless waves without trying, goes days without crying but still treats me kind, and it's not his fault all the sleep I've been losing, the way that I’m ruined — one look in his eyes and I’m gone, helplessly gone."

Produced by Dave Cobb and Alex Hope, the full album Honeymind promises to be Platt's most introspective and unfiltered project to date. The full album will drop on May 31 via Interscope Records.

In addition to the dropped song, Platt also released the music video for "Andrew."
In a press release, Platt explains how he got the name for the album, "One day I ate some mushroom chocolate and went on a hike with the love of my life. I thought about how to describe to him that I was just so happy to be in love with him. That my love for him somehow softens things and slows it all down." The title Honeymind was born.
Love apparently is all Ben can think about. He is currently engaged to actor Noah Galvin. "I wrote about finding real love, about being grateful for it and tending to it, and all of the work we have to do as individuals to find security in who we are, so that we're ready for that real love when it comes along." No, we aren't jealous at all.

When did Platt have time to record this album? He's been very busy. Recently, he received his second Tony nomination for his deeply emotional role in Parade and appeared in the films Theater Camp and Dear Evan Hansen. His third album follows the successful 2019’s Sing To Me and 2021’s Reverie.
If he wasn't busy enough, he began filming, alongside Beanie Feldstein, Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along which is being shot over a 20-year period, directed by Richard Linklater. Wowzers.
