What to Post on St. Patrick's Day
St. Patrick's Day is quickly here and yes, we all want to celebrate a day of drinking in honor of the Irish, but it's also a great, fun way to connect with your Instagram base. Stumped with what to post? Make it funny, make it simple, make it sexy. Here's our quick tip sheet as to what to post and how to engage with your sexy fans. Some of these seem like no-brainers, but still just getting the basics out there will start your creative juices to flow.
Green Your Grid
Use social media tools to make block grid posts, and make them all greenish in color/nature. Use a filter or editing tool and change the hues of your pics to a greenish tint. Or post six posts in succession and make your own block of green stuff. It will make a difference when people peep at your Instagram profile.
Make it Personal
Don't just post graphics or generic posts. Make it personal. People want to engage with you, not a corporate, generic leprechaun from Hallmark. Show your personality. What is your niche? Are you a nerd? Are you a gym rat? Are you a drinker? Let's see that in St. Patrick's Day form.
Puns are Fun
Add some personality and add some puns. Even if your audience rolls their eyes, they're still smiling. Here are some fun ones to get you going.
The paddy don’t start ‘til I walk in
Here to paddy
Time to sham-rock and roll
Let’s get shamrocked!
Don’t worry, beer happy
What a brew-tiful day!
Time to paddy
Irish today, hungover tomorrow
It ain’t over ‘till it’s clover

Giveaways/Contests
Giveaways or contests are always great to build your engagement. Make your fans tag a friend or share your post in order to win whatever you want to give away. Want to give away the green undies you are wearing? Or your knee-high green socks? Or a private video message from you? Whatever you want, use the holiday to spike your Instagram engagement.
Quizzer Me Green
Just like giveaways engage your audience, a surefire way to interact with your fan base is to ask St. Patrick's Day quiz questions in your stories. You can also create polls...as simple as "Are you celebrating St. Patrick's Day?" to "Show me your green" or "What is the Blarney Stone?" Whatever you want, the spirit of the holiday will encourage people to interact and spike your engagement.
Be Cool, Be A Tipster
Everyone will be looking for ideas for celebrating the holiday. Be a resource, be a cool tipster! Share a cocktail recipe, share a cooking recipe, share an outfit idea, share a drinking game, whatever it is, share some tips. Your Instagram fans will love it.
Go Live
Go live and take us on your St. Patrick's Day Instagram journey. Are you getting dressed for your St. Patrick's Day party? Let's see. Are you working out in a leprechaun outfit? Let's see. Are you making drinks in your kitchen? Show us. Are you out at the bars celebrating with friends? Show us!
Dress It Up
Ok, we know the gays love their thirst traps. Keep within Instagram-friendly guidelines, of course, but sex it up a bit. Got some hot green undies? Now is the time to show it off. Got a hot green tank top and very short nylon shorts for the gym? Show us! A green harness? A green pup mask? Green socks for the foot fetish people out there? Yasssss!
Hashtags
It's all about the hashtags...you don't want to inundate your posts with hashtags, but putting at least ten will get you noticed. Pick hashtags that are witty and fun, and some that are just basic. Make sure you search your chosen hashtags first to see what kind of engagement they are already getting. No use in using a hashtag with less than 100 posts. You can also use tools like Google Trends to see which ones are trending. Here are some popular ones we found floating around:
