Meta Goes Down! Memes Go Wild!

All of us gays had our hearts stop when Tuesday morning, Instagram wasn't loading and Facebook (if you still use that) booted us out. Were we hacked? Was the world falling apart? How would we do our morning scroll and stalk our hotties and exes? Help! In actuality, it was only about two hours that it was out, but it seemed like a lifetime.

Conspiracy social media users started thinking it had something with the Super Tuesday presidential primaries happening in 15 states. Coincidence? Many celebrities were using social media as a way to get their fans to get out and vote...hello, Taylor Swift. In addition to Facebook and Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads were also down. The finance world was also quick to point out that Meta's stock had reached an all-time high, obviously, the stock has fallen since then. The last major outage occurred in 2021 when Instagram and Facebook were down for six hours. Meta as a whole, services almost 4 billion users. The outage did not just affect the US but also countries like Japan, the UK, Germany, and others.

Of course, when service was restored, social media had a lot to say and memes were already on the rise. We captured the first batch that started hitting the webs. You're welcome.

If you asked any gay, it definitely was a crisis. Some of the influencers had to put their shirts back on while they waited for Instagram to come back.
