Ryan Gosling is Batman? Jodie Foster as Princess Leia? Pinocchio Is A Killer.

I’m your Gay News Guy – this is the news, casual, sassy, unfiltered, and a little tipsy. Ok here’s today’s MOVIE NEW MONDAY as I see it!

Tron 3 officially began filming after years in development. The original Disney film has become somewhat of a cult classic. Tron 2 (released 13 years ago) was not very successful at the box office, so it will be interesting to see if, after a long delay, anyone is still interested in seeing more Tron.

Mean Girls 2024 is still going strong and killed it, once again, at the box office despite a drop in sales. This, along with Wonka and The Color Purple, has really done its part in reviving the movie musical for a new generation. Have you seen it yet?

In other movie musical news, JLo’s trailer dropped for the new musical based on her upcoming album This is Me Now... A Love Story is a combo of fantasy and documentary filmmaking. Huh? Ben Affleck will be part of the film…maybe he’ll just be in the corner pouting. Check out the trailer and let us know your thoughts:

Is Ryan Gosling the new Batman? Rumors and an incorrect website post have caused a sensation regarding the possibility of Ryan Gosling appearing as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming Superman: Legacy. James Gunn said…um…no. And Batman will probably not even appear in Legacy.

Another Disney-loved character is getting the horror film treatment after becoming public domain. Pinocchio: Unstrung will join Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, Bambi: The Reckoning, and Steamboat Willie as the latest killer in the low-budget chain of pulp films.

Playstation is getting into the horror film genre in an R-rated adaptation of their Playstation 4 release Until Dawn. The video game centers around eight characters who must survived a night with a killer on Blackwood Mountain.

The Lilo & Stitch live-action movie casting isn’t sitting well with certain fans. People took to social media about the casting of the character of Nani, saying the character should be darker skinned to fit with the Indigenous Hawaiian background of the character. They claim that this is further colorism in Hollywood.

Fitness guru turned pop culture figure Richard Simmons came out of hiding to denounce the Paul Shore starring biopic that is set to come out. He says that he had nothing to do with the film and no one even consulted him. He is mad! He’s not Sweatin’ to the Oldies, he’s Yellin’ at the Movies!

Looks like the humans from the original cast of Ghostbusters are not the only ones to return…Slimer will make a comeback in the sequel of the reboot, Frozen Empire. We missed the little guy. Reminds me of my ex.

After 20 years, the Polar Express sequel is now in development. Let’s hope they do better animation. To be honest, the characters looked a little creepy in the first.

Fun fact: Did you know that Jodie Foster was leading the race to play Princess Leia in Star Wars? They were going to skew the character a bit younger (Jodie would have been 15 years old). But Jodie was contracted for a Disney film and did not want to pull out of the project. She would have brought an interesting energy to the character. Who knows?
