Watch the Trailer For Dan Levy’s New Drama Good Grief

MOVIE HUNKS

Gay Pop Culture News

The world fell in love with Dan Levy during his Emmy Award-winning star turn as the snobby but lovable neurotic David Rose in the beloved TV series Schitt's Creek, a series which Levy also wrote and co-created. And now we get to see the more serious side of Dan in the upcoming film Good Grief, which he wrote, directed, and stars in for Netflix.

Good Grief sees Dan Levy starring as Marc, a recent widower who suddenly and unexpectedly loses the love of his life and his life-of-the-party partner Oliver (hunky Luke Evans). Shattered and drowning in grief, Marc and his two best friends, Sophie (Oscar nominee Ruth Negga from Passing) and Thomas (Himesh Patel from the Beatles film Yesterday) take an impromptu trip to Paris to grieve, to rediscover themselves, and to reconcile their pasts and futures.

Poster for Netflix's Dan Levy movie Good Grief.

“'Good Grief' is a cautionary tale about friendship and loss and all the mess that comes with it when the truth is something you’ve evaded for most of your life,” Levy told Netflix. “It’s funny, it’s bittersweet, it’s a project that’s helped me work through my own grief. And I hope it does the same for other people as well."

He went on to say "A lot of people think I'm a comic. And I'm not. I've always been a slightly more emo person than people realize. So I’ve had to reconcile this outward persona, the David Rose persona that everyone seems to think is me.”

The cast of Good Grief also includes Celia Imrie, David Bradley, Arnaud Valois, Emma Corrin and Kaitlyn Dever.

The son of character actor Eugene Levy, Dan Levy first broke out on Canadian television as a host on MTV Canada. For the final season of his series Schitt's Creek, Dan Levy won Emmy Awards for producing, writing, directing, and acting all in a single year—now that's iconic, four Emmys in one night. The guy has got what it takes. It's going to be thrilling to see his serious vulnerable side. His previous film appearances have included the holiday comedy Happiest Season and Disney's Haunted Mansion.
