There's so much amazing gay content coming our way, it's almost hard to keep track of it all! What's that movie I wanted to cry to? What was that movie I hope has a hot enough sex scene that I bust? Very that. Below we share five movie trailers that caught our attention in the dense field of gay drama, romance, and comedy.
Shoulder Dance
The romantic comedy Shoulder Dance already has me seated and ready. The film stars a trio of absolute beefcake: Matt Dallas (of Kyle XY fame) Taylor Frey (Broadway boy with a booty to die for), and Rick Cosnett from The Flash. Writer-director Jay Arnold gives us his modern Queer spin on a classic bedroom farce. I'm hoping for Noises Off in jockstraps. Shoulder Dance premiered at The Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival and took home the award for Best LGBTQ Film. Rent it now to stream!
Serving in Secret
The new documentary from MSNBC explores what it was like for servicemen to live and work under the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. Serving In Secret: Love, Country, And Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is the latest doc in MSNBC’s “Turning Point” series, and throughout it examines the history of LGBTQ+ people in military service and the discrimination they have faced throughout the years while also telling the love story of servicemen Tom Carpenter and Courtland “Court’ Hirschi and the fallout of their being together. Stream it now on Peacock.
Gameboys: The Movie
So the new movie about young love Gameboys: The Movie already has a big audience worldwide. Let me explain. The characters began on the online series Gameboys, fans watched gaymers Cairo (Elijah Canlas) and Gavreel (Kokoy de Santos) meet during a live stream gaming session and gradually fall in love. The show has the gaymers in a long-distance relationship, communicating through their screens, but the movie finally brings them together at long last. What will happen when LDR becomes IRL? Available now to stream.
Nuovo Olimpo
The Italian flick Nuovo Olimpo tells the love story of two film students who meet when they are 25, fall madly, passionately in love, and then are torn apart and don't see each other for 30 years before reuniting. Will past flames still burn bright? Can secret love last 30 years? Stream it on Netflix.
Maestro
Actor-director Bradley Cooper is going hard for his long-overdue Oscar in the new bio-film Maestro about the great composer Leonard Bernstein. The film dives into Bernstein's sexuality, his genius, and the love that stayed with him through it all. It's going to be a big awards movie, so get in on it now. The movie hits theatres November 22, then streams on Netflix starting December 20.
