Yesterday was the official start of the Autumn Equinox, better known to most as... "YASSSSSS FOLIAGE! PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES, BETCHES! FLANNEL AND BEANIES FOR DAYYYS!" But we can just call it the Fall for short. And with the changing of the seasons comes a whole slew of amazing Fall events! We figured we'd start rolling out some calendars of great Fall events around the country, and we decided to start with the West Coast. Here's what's coming to the SoCal region!
Gay Days @ Disney (Sept. 22nd - 24th)

Every year, thousands of Queers descend on Disneyland in Anaheim, CA for three days of absolute Queer joy set against some of the most iconic rides and parks in the world. And that weekend is this weekend! Kicking of the Queer Fall Calendar for SoCal is Gay Days Anaheim. Disney has also proven itself to be one of the most ardent supporters of the LGBTQ+ community, as they've vocally spoken against Ron DeSantis and his crusade against Queer people. And they recently announced the largest LGBTQ+ summit in the world. Get ready Disney Gays™... your mecca starts today!
Atlantis Cruise LA to Mexico (Oct. 23rd to 30th)

There's pretty much one name when it comes to major gay cruises and that's Atlantic Cruises. The company dominates the industry and offers some of the biggest parties of the year, all on the backdrop of stunning locations and the vast, open ocean. Their LA to Mexico cruise this Fall will be no different, so if you're looking to go, it's always best to jump on it early!
InterPride 2023 (Oct. 25th - 29th)

Everyone loves going to Pride, but what about when you want to start a Pride event? What if you're from a small area removed from the big cities that are used to hosting major Pride events? Well, that's where InterPride comes in. The organization brings people together to give them the tools and resources they need to organize Pride events and have been such a major force for good that they were granted Consultative Status at the United Nations in June 2023. It should also come as no surprise that the group that helps organize and facilitate Pride events also throws one hell of a Pride event! InterPride 2023 is in San Diego this year, as it's being hosted by San Diego Pride.
WeHo Carnaval, aka: West Hollywood Halloween (Oct. 31st)

If you are going to be in the SoCal area on Halloween and want to attend one of the biggest spectacles of the year, then look no further than West Hollywood in LA. Every year, the WeHo Halloween parade draws between 150,000 and 200,000 people to its streets. If you've never been, it's ABSOLUTELY worth going to. You'll see some of the most stunningly ornate Halloween costumes ever because if there's one thing the gays know how to do, it's bring Halloween to another level. Just don't expect to have cell service or to reach the bars. But if you're game to just wander and witness, then it's one hell of an evening!
Palm Springs Pride (Nov. 3rd - 5th)

One of my favorite things on the annual gay calendar every year is the fact that Palm Springs Pride happens smack in the middle of the Fall. They close the streets, there are drag queens everywhere, and guys pack the small town to celebrate one last Pride in the California calendar. After her smash success headlining WeHo Pride this past June, Idina Menzel is headlining Pride again, but this time in everyone's favorite Queer oasis in the desert.
LA Leather Getaway (Nov. 23rd - 26th)
From leather to pup play to Shibari, LA Leather Getaway from our friends over at CLAW Corp is one the best events of the Fall. And since the event happens around Thanksgiving weekend, then it's the perfect time to get stuffed. The kinky guys take over a hotel in DTLA and it's not for the faint of heart.
