Picture it! America... 2008. You've just finished listening to Lady Gaga's new smash hit "Poker Face" and you already know that the song is going to be one for the ages. At a surface level the song is an amazing bop about reading someone's emotions and specifically, sex, gambling, and the wild life. But when you read the lyrics a bit deeper, you come to realize that there is a deeper layer about celebrating bisexuality.

And Lady Gaga confirmed as much in a recent concert for her Las Vegas residency. In her September 6th performance at the Park MGM's Dolby Live theater, Gaga paused mid-song to remind the lil monsters in the crowd of the song's Queer roots. "Bet you didn’t know that this song was about sleeping with men and thinking about women the whole time," Gaga said, adding, "Now, that's a good poker face."

She then walked the crowd through the lyrics, clearing "faking it" with the hypothetical guy she'd be in bed with. "Oh yeah, baby, right there," Gaga mocked. "Mmhmm, yeah, it’s so good." She also went on to take some artistic liberties (which, duh, she can do) with the lyrics to make them even clearer and Queerer. "He’s got me like nobody," morphed into "She’s got me like nobody." She also took things to an even naughtier level, changing "p-p-p-poker face" to "fuck her face" and "I’m fucking her face."
Getting ahead of any parents who might complain about the lyrics or the language, Gaga noted, "It’s not my fault if you brought your family to my show!" Adding, "When you bought the tickets and you saw 'Lady Gaga in Las Vegas' and you thought, 'I should bring my family,' that’s not my fault."

The residency, "Lady Gaga - Jazz and Piano" features the legendary performer and Oscar-winning actress performing both jazz standards and acoustic versions of her own songs, all against a 1930s ambiance and wardrobe. The show seems to be a balance between Gatsby and Vaudeville, honoring both the fabulousness of Las Vegas and the stunning feathered gowns that go along with it, as well as the gender-bending fashion that Gaga has embraced for so long.
