In Our favorite legally queer podcast’s most recent episode, Dextra and Blue discuss Sarah Silverman v. ChatGPT. In this controversial case, the renowned comedian and actress recently filed a lawsuit against the creators of Chat GPT, alleging copyright infringement and unauthorized use of her likeness. In her complaint, Silverman claims that the AI-powered chatbot, which utilizes her distinctive comedic style and persona, has been generating content without her consent and without proper compensation (we’ve all seen Black Mirror and know which direction this is going in). This legal action has sparked a broader conversation about the boundaries of AI-generated content and the rights of public figures in the digital age. The lawsuit is being closely watched for its potential implications on the evolving intersection of technology, entertainment, and intellectual property rights. Check out this week’s ‘cast for more in-depth coverage.
In other news, the talented tattoo maven Kat Von D is finding herself in a bit of a sharp situation. Kat's currently facing a lawsuit for copyright infringement, so much of those going around these days. It all centers around her incredibly detailed Miles Davis tattoo, which, as it turns out, might have struck a bit too many chords with the original artist. The lawsuit alleges that Kat inked up her client's skin with an uncanny resemblance to the iconic Miles Davis album cover art, all without the original artist's blessing. It's a creative clash that's turning the world of tattoos into a real head-scratcher. This case isn't just about art; it's about the blurred intersection of copyright law and body art. Still curious? Dextra's got the deetz on Von D.
