If you're a frequenter of either Instagram or TikTok, there's a really good chance you're familiar with Calvin Seabrooks. You may know him as an actor on Queer As Folk, you might know him for his amazing impression of Billy Porter, or you may also remember him because quite frankly he's ridiculously sexy so he's easy to remember. Now the actor-writer-comedian can add singer to his multi-hyphenate with the release of his first single, "Friends With Benny." This is one you're going to need to listen to ASAP.

Who's Benny you ask? Benny is Calvin's friend. Okay, technically Benny is Calvin's friend who is also imaginary. Okay, let's drop the BS... from the sounds of it, Benny is basically Calvin. Benny may be the name in the song, but the title is of course a nod to being "friends with benefits"... and Seabrooks makes it clear he's a big fan of being friends with benefits. In an interview with Queerty, the gorgeous artist talked about how important his Grindr tricks-turned-besties have become to him. "For years my whole friend group was filled with boys who started out as Grindr hookups." he said. "I think that’s actually pretty common in LA, I just never heard someone write a song about it." And so write a song he did!
On one post, Seabrooks writes, "This one goes out to my oomfs who get drunk and kiss oomfs." For those unfamiliar, "OOMFS" is an acronym for "One Of My Followers" in reference to people following a given social media (typically Twitter aka: X).

And let me just say, "Friends With Benny" is an absolute bop. It's upbeat, it's fun, and Seabrooks sounds outstanding! "I've got an imaginary friend / When I get drunk and lonely / he fucks my homies. And it's usually not like me to play pretend. Don't @ me." I've now listened to the song on repeat and it has yet to get old. I'm using it for my IG stories, I'm listening to it while working, and... there's a good chance it might even join the ranks of my morning shower playlist.

In the interview, the beau from Encinitas, CA also dished his pride in being a Scorpio, saying they "stay getting dragged left and right." He added, "...we’re the best in bed, don’t @ me." The song is available on Spotify, but it's worth it to watch the music video on his Instagram just to see Seabrooks' sexy self in action.
