Many couples are in the same line of work. Some are in the performing arts. But what about couples who first meet in one form of the performing arts and then become a couple in the adult performing arts? Say what?!

That is the very situation for the smoking-hot couple of Jkab Ethan Dale and Dean Michaelz. How did you two meet?

J: We were cast on a Broadway tour together four years ago. We became friends quickly, and two years ago, our friendship evolved into a relationship.

D: We both met doing a Broadway tour. I don't want to call it love at first sight but when you look like Jkab it's hard to look away in the men's dressing room.

How long have you two been a couple? How has it been so far?

J: We’ve been in a relationship for two years. It’s been amazing! Having been friends first, we knew so much about each other, and it has helped us get to the very healthy place we are now.

D: We've been together for two years now and have known each other for a total of four years. It's honestly been one of the greatest experiences of my life getting to have Jkab in my life. I feel like I’m so at home with him and can be my honest self at the same time.

Could you tell us how each of you came to the adult industry?

J: I originally came into the adult industry from being recruited at a bar in San Diego. I won a wet underwear contest, and a man came up to me and asked if I’d be interested in working for Sean Cody. I only did a solo then. I was asked to do more, but I turned it down at the time. Fast forward to the pandemic, I decided to start an OnlyFans and get fully into studio work.

D: I came into the industry toward the middle of the pandemic during 2020, when most places were still shut down. OnlyFans had really taken off and I saw an opportunity to get into the industry for myself. Jkab was already a huge success and became a big help and I couldn't be more grateful.

How are you navigating being in a relationship while being in the adult industry? Challenges? Benefits?

J: It’s all about communication and making sure each other feels loved and important. We both know that we feel loved in different ways, so we listen and learn from each other what those things are. This has helped us build a strong foundation of trust, which helps us navigate this tough business really well together. We are fortunate that we are both in the industry because we can empathize and understand what each other has to go through. We rarely get jealous and can separate sex from our emotional connection.

D: Honestly, it has been pretty rewarding. I feel like when you’re constantly working within the industry you have to communicate what is going on with your work. That is the key to a successful relationship— communication. I’m someone who likes to know who you’re sleeping with! lol.

Have you been in a relationship with other performers before?

J: I haven’t.

D: I have. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out well because my partner at the time didn’t like to share all the necessary information with me which left me feeling insecure and questionable.

Have you two performed in a scene together yet? Tell us about it.

J: We have done scenes for OF together. They’re always great! Even before we started OF, we loved filming! We’ve had a couple of studios ask us to do scenes together, but Dean doesn’t want to jump into studio work, yet.

D: We have not performed in a scene together for a studio, but we have done many scenes for our private pages. It’s always a fun time and we definitely bring on the passion.

Has being in a relationship affected either of you as performers? How?

J: Dean is my rock. This business is tough, so he helps me stay strong and pointed in the right direction. It’s a blessing to have his support, and he helps me feel more confident as a performer.

D: It honestly hasn’t for the most part. If anything it has brought our understanding of what our expectations of each other are closer together and helped us be more responsible. I love Jkab and I'm so proud of the work that he’s done. I only want to see him succeed and grow as a performer. I trust him and know that this industry is only one aspect of our lives.

What are some of your ambitions moving forward in the industry both as a couple and individually?

J: My ambition is to encourage more Asian men in our industry. I want studios and brands to use us more, and I want more Asian men to feel welcome. When you look at our industry, Asian men are not represented enough. I talk about it a lot when I’m on sets or with other performers. Once you take a look and ask yourself, how often you see Asian men in the industry on an award stage, a cover, or an ad, you’ll notice there aren’t many (if any). I want to advocate for us more. As a couple, I want to help encourage Dean is whatever avenue he pursues. He is so smart and I know whatever he chooses to he’ll be successful. We both will support each other in every way.

D: I wish to be able to flourish with my partner together on this journey. This is a tough industry for anyone and I already admire anyone who chooses to pursue it. I’m so proud of Jkab and will do anything for our happiness to continue whether that's in this industry or not.

Who are Jkab and Dean outside of the industry? What are your lives like? Separately and as a couple.

J: We are so cheesy and loving. Dean is such a goofball and the best dog dad. Even after two years, he still makes it a point to surprise me, and do little acts of service. We both go out a lot, but I’m more of a homebody. I’ve never been more in love, and confident in a relationship.

D: Outside of the industry we’re honestly just a bunch of goofballs who enjoy hanging out with our friends, taking our pup to the park, going to see scary movies, and hanging out by the pool. We're still exploring our relationship but I’m very excited to see where we both end up. I’ve never been so in love or as proud as I am right now.

For Jkab: What is the sexiest thing about Dean and what do you love most about him?

J: We can all see he is strikingly handsome but the thing that makes him the sexiest, is that he is a good listener and takes the time to make me feel important. He’s smart and gets my sense of humor. The fact that he’s super sexy on the outside, and a truly kind and caring person Is why I know he’s a keeper.
For Dean: What is the sexiest thing about Jkab and what do you love most about him?

D: I think the sexiest thing about Jkab is his butt. I'm going to be totally honest when I say that because I've never met someone who could turn me on as much and who had such a muscle butt and could dance the way he could. He’s smooth and yet the way his body flexes in such a way that I am so turned on.
