Jordan Jayro’s Drag Race All Stars Season 8 Recap: Episode 6, JOAN: The Unauthorized Rusical

Hello, hello hello! Another week has passed, and it is once again time to talk about RuPaul’s Drag Race! This week we’re talking about All Stars episode six: JOAN: The Unauthorized Rusical! Last week was an incredible edition of Snatch Game of Love! And Jimbo won her third challenge! Which makes her a front-runner! And we’ve seen what happens on All Stars when a clear front-runner starts to emerge. I’ll give you a hint: they get eliminated! I’m so intrigued to see what happens next! So let’s get right into this episode!

I suppose this is the part where I say that the queens are back in the werk room after the elimination, but there wasn’t one! I guess after Heidi’s self-elimination, Ru decided there didn’t need to be an elimination this week. I’m not mad at it! The queens still get to go through the lipsticks, and it looks like the vote was unanimous to send Kahanna home. So I’m certain she’s feeling the pressure this week. Jimbo is emotional because she hasn’t won a lip sync yet. But she’s still won three challenges already! I get wanting to win the money but girl, that’s a lot of emotion for winning.

It’s a new day in the werk room! And it appears there’s been a bit of redecorating! The iconic RuPaul portraits have been replaced by portraits of none other than Joan Crawford! There’s a video message filled with Joan Crawford references, so that can only mean one thing! Ru enters the werk room and tells the queens that for this week’s maxi challenge, they will be starring in JOAN: The Unauthorized Rusical! Yay! While assigning the roles, pretty much everyone got the role they wanted. Kandy and Jessica were the only ones who wanted the same role, so they had to audition for it! They both were very crunchy to me, but the group decided Kandy should have the role.

It’s time for JOAN: The Unauthorized Rusical! The queens who I think excelled were Jaymes, Kandy, Lala Ri, Alexis, and Jessica. Kahanna and Jimbo struggled the most to me in the Rusical. I don’t think anyone necessarily did a bad job though! The whole performance was great. But as we know, the runway can change everything!

Let’s talk about the runway! This week, the category is Night of 1000 Grace Jones’s! Some of my tops were Kandy, Jessica, Lala Ri, and Alexis. The judges didn’t seem to like Lala Ri’s look but I thought it was cute! My bottoms on the runway were Kahanna and Jaymes. I just feel like we’re getting a lot of the same from Kahanna. And as much as I love Jaymes, this look needed some serious help!

Alexis Michelle and Jimbo are safe! Kandy Muse is the top All Star of the week! Unfortunately, Kahanna and Jaymes are the bottom two queens this week. This is Kahanna’s third time being in the bottom, so I feel like the choice should be easy. But, we know that people have voted for their biggest competition in the past. Kandy now must face off against this week’s lip-sync assassin, who is Angeria Paris VanMicheals!! They lip sync to “I’m Not Perfect But I’m Perfect For You” by Grace Jones. This lip sync was hot! Kandy devoured that performance, and she’s a winner baby! She earned a cash tip of $30,000! So rich! Now she gets to reveal the queen she chose to go home week. And that queen unfortunately was Jaymes Mansfield. I call shade!
