Hey, gurl!! I’m back again with a fierce new episode of Hey Gurl! With Jordan Jayro! This week’s very special guest is the fabulous Abigail Beverly Hillz!! She is your current reigning Miss Trans Queen USA, and will be competing for Drag Queen Of The Year this year! We talked about it all, honey! We spill some tea, throw some shade, and share some memories from gigs we've done together! Abigail also shares a lot about her experience being a trans woman and performer. She really is the moment, and I'm so glad we got to sit and have this chat! I know you're going to love it! So enjoy! And don't forget to rate this podcast 5 stars and write a nice review!

So, in true Hey Gurl fashion, we talked about Sniffies within minutes of starting! I was shocked that Abigail was not familiar with Sniffies, so I opened the app and showed her the smorgasbord of genitalia and phalli that are strewn throughout the map. She talked about getting banned on other dating apps because she had pictures of herself in and out of drag. Abigail also talked about meeting her partner on Taimi! We also discussed dealing with gross straight men on Tinder. Get Mr. Tinder on the phone! I have several notes!

We of course talked about trans representation in drag and nightlife. It feels like sometimes people forget about trans people and their contribution to drag as a whole. There’s no denying that much of what we know and love about drag today was built on the backs of trans women who came before us. We also talked about being a showgirl, and how it’s not about what you do. Being a showgirl is an essence, and if you are a girl, and you’re putting on a show, you are a showgirl. Insert tongue pop here.

The second half of the show started with me mentioning a certain tweet about Shawn Mendes that made me laugh. You’ll have to listen to the full episode to get the tea on that tweet! Abigail talked about growing up in rural Illinois and going to a private catholic school. She talked about socially transitioning in her sophomore year of high school and giving a speech at her school about being trans. Abigail told a really crazy story about being nominated for prom queen during her senior year. It’s a little sad and traumatic, but I’m glad she was comfortable sharing something like that and having such a positive outlook on life now. We talked about sobriety, Abigail’s early drag experiences, and her life entering adulthood. This episode is really fun and honest and real. I had so much fun talking to Abigail! We really go in about life and the struggles of being drag artists.
