Just the other day, I found myself in line at the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (GET TESTED) checking out the ass in front of me shimmying side to side to one of the many pop remixes pouring forth from the speakers. Turns out that fine ass belonged to none other than the adorably sweet and sexy Max Adonis. It's always great to run into familiar faces in familiar places, especially when that face is as warm and inviting as Max's. Let's catch up with the Adonis himself.
For those readers out there who have been living under a rock, tell us a little about who is Max Adonis.
Max Adonis is an alias I created four and a half years ago to navigate the porn industry. labeling myself Adonis may yield different opinions, however, let me set the record straight. I'm a humble, down-to-earth guy who enjoys a lot of the simple things in life. I love my fans and I love exploring my sexuality on camera. If anything, I aspire to be worthy of my namesake by working hard and living healthily.
What was your introduction or first experience in the adult industry?
Back in 2014, I started go-go dancing. I would drive up on weekends to Phoenix, Arizona. Dancing on a box, learning a few pole tricks, and giving out my first lap dances. I consider that my first experience because I never garnered attention from men like that before.
...and you’ve come a long way since then. You were a contestant on Go-Go for the Gold, right?
Go-Go for the Gold was a full-circle moment for me. It also was an amazing experience working with Jonny McGovern again. A pilot season isn’t easy to pull off but luckily I got to share in the chaos with an incredible group of people. I’m excited to see what comes from it and I hope they go on to make more seasons! Go-go dancers are the life of the party and this show accurately reflects that.
The last time that I saw you, you were hospitable enough to give me a tour of your home on wheels. What is it like to be a content creator on the road?
Van life perfectly blended together my love for travel, adventure, and sex. When I’m on the road I make more money. I’m doing collabs and meeting with fans in a new city every week. I have the freedom to come and go as I choose. I am extremely lucky to have friends who welcome me over to shower and use their Wi-Fi. I created a small video of the van build, that I uploaded to my YouTube here.
I’m getting wanderlust just thinking about it. Speaking of lust, what’s one of the crazier hookups you’ve had while on the road?
Oh wowza, there are quite a few I can mention! Like when I posted up in NYC for a month! But why would I tell you when I could show you?! All my naughty van adventures are uploaded to my website justforfans.com/maxadonisxxx
Well played, homie...
You’ve been in the porn game for a hot minute. How has being a performer who is undetectably HIV+ influenced your experience?
My status never seemed to be an issue or something I let define me. However a year into my career, the bigger studios started filming bareback scenes exclusively. All at once, I was being denied work, and when I would be hired I was only being paired with other positive performers. A few times I was in talks with certain studios who wanted to book me. Right up until the moment they found out I was +undetectable. It was apparent and embarrassing when it would happen too. I actually have grievances with the inherently discriminatory talent testing system we use. For instance, my profile will never say I’m cleared to work even when I’m negative for all STIs. Since I need a viral load test I automatically will fail. It’s a slap in the face to positive performers who take their health and treatment seriously. I’ve met some amazing directors and performers who know the science and choose to work with me anyways. Those people have shaped my career more than I could have ever imagined. ♥️
What is one thing that you’d like to take a moment to say to all of the folks out there who have yet to join us in the 21st century and still stigmatize HIV?
Get tested and know your status. The people who are passing on HIV, are almost always someone who thinks they are “negative” but since their last test was a few months ago they didn’t realize they contracted the virus and can be spreading it around unknowingly.
What’s next for Max Adonis?
I’m not sure actually. I’m very curious to find out! I love practicing my photography. I would like to learn an instrument or two. Falling in love sounds fun as well.
