Hey Gurl! with Jordan Jayro: Rilan Talks Memes, Music, and The Early 2000’s

Hey gurl! This week is a very special week at Hey Gurl Productions (also known as my bedroom)! I’m celebrating my 50th episode of Hey Gurl With Jordan Jayro! It’s been a wild ride ever since my first episode in 2019. I was driving all over LA with my little suitcase of equipment trying to get people to talk to me for an hour. It is so wild to think that I have done 50 of these chats! A few weeks ago, I realized that episode 50 was looming on the horizon. So I knew I needed to make it a special one! But who do I ask to be my guest? A Ru girl? A comedian? No, neither of those. I decided who better to have as my 50th guest than one of my closest friends Rilan! He’s one of my favorite people ever, and one of the funniest and most talented humans to ever walk this earth. I can’t say enough how much love I have for Rilan. We met randomly on the street in West Hollywood back in 2021 and have been Judy’s ever since!

We talk about our love of Hilary Duff and share that famous clip of her singing a riff from the movie Raise Your Voice. That clip has recently resurfaced online and we’ve both laughed at how it sounds like multiple people singing. This tangent led to Rilan telling me about the time he got to see Hilary Duff in concert! I was so jealous! I was shocked to find that he’d never seen an episode of The Kardashians! It’s one of my favorite reality shows ever!

Rilan told me a really cool story about how his mom went to college with Britney Spears’ mom and may or may not have fought her in a parking lot. I can neither confirm nor deny this claim. That segued into the time Rilan had to get a colonoscopy when he was 18. The full story is actually kind of outrageous, so you have to listen to the entire episode!

I did make some time to discuss actual serious topics with Rilan! We talked about his time being a Warbler on Glee! This was something I had no idea about when I first met him! I’ve been a huge Glee fan for years, so this had me shook! Rilan is also an incredible songwriter and performer! I’ve been to his shows, and I’m always the one in the front screaming and taking videos like Kris Jenner. His music is also incredible, so please check it out! Rilan is seriously such an insane artist, and I know you’re going to love him as much as I do!
