Another day, another professional athlete comes out! Anderson Comas of the Chicago White Sox Minor League team publicly came out on his Instagram.

Posting to main, the dual pitcher/outfielder (we love a vers zaddy) started off with a warning to any pieces of garbage out there, saying, "Disclaimer: if you’re homophobic this post is maybe not for you or maybe yes so you can see we all matters and we all are the same…" He goes on to say, "This may be my most-personal thing I ever share and it’s that I’m proudly and happily part of the LGTBQ+ community ️".

He continues with a much longer, and beautifully-written post about who he is, and that he hopes this helps inspire others like him to come out, as well, and to not let their Queerness hinder their dreams to be in sports. "...I'm Gay and I’m a professional athlete so that didn’t stop me to make my dreams come true...", Comas said. He also posted the entire thing translated to Spanish, as well, since the 23-year-old athlete is from the Dominican Republic.
The Chicago White Sox management has also been nothing but supportive of the up-and-coming star. Chris Getz, the assistant general manager/player development for the team, said Comas “first shared his news with us last year." In addition, the organization as a whole seems to have responded wonderfully. “I also was happy at the reaction across the organization, which as you would expect was to support, help and congratulate a teammate," Getz said. "With his social media post today, we are so proud of Anderson and that he is comfortable sharing such an important personal part of his life so openly.”
The Chicago White Sox posted to their Twitter in support of the MLB prospect:

For those of us who were born in the '80s and before, out-loud-and-proud Queer sports stars were NOT a thing, so forgive us if we revel in how truly wonderful this is as a moment in sports/American/Queer history. Because there were no out-Queer athletes in sports back then, you wouldn't DARE come out in the Minor Leagues; your career would be ruined before it even started. Kudos to Anderson Comas! I'm loving this trend for the next generation.
And since this fresh, new star is decidedly a rising one, here are a few pics to help you get to know him a bit better. And goddamn he is gorgeous.
