Watching OnlyFans Builds Sexual Confidence Says Scientific Journal

SEX TIPS

Cole Connor in an OnlyFans threeway.

For everyone who's ever told you that porn ruins sex and is a harmful vice in society... you can now show them a peer-reviewed report published in a major scientific journal that says otherwise. And in fact, it would seem from this report that watching OnlyFans will specifically help increase one's sexual confidence!

Researchers at California State University published their new study in the prestigious scientific journal, Sexuality & Culture. Consisting of 425 OnlyFans users with an average age of 37, the study relied on an open-ended question, which allows participants to better flesh out their answers. “What new things have you learned from using OnlyFans in terms of sexual practices, relationships, communication, yourself, your personal preferences, or sexual health?” Of the 57% identifying as male and 46% identifying as female (and 80.9% identifying as straight), almost half of them said they tried something new as a result of watching OnlyFans. This ranges from new positions to trying toys, to exploring another side of their sexuality.

Though this is a terrific study, the researchers themselves admit it's only just the beginning of what they can learn from the relationship between OnlyFans and JustForFans, and their impacts on viewers' sex lives & sexuality. The team stated that “a number of interesting questions remain open for future research,” among them how sexual orientation and race are impacted as factors, as well as how the results may differ for sex workers from those who enjoy the business.

I do wonder whether this study was partially a response to the heat OnlyFans received in 2022, when they declared they would ban porn (HUH?!) from their platform, a decision they would backtrack on almost immediately after people everywhere understandably went ballistic. As a mea culpa, OnlyFans then pledged to financially support the Woodhull Freedom Foundation, an advocacy group that fights to protect sexual freedom as a human right. Though the amount donated was undisclosed, industry insiders XBiz made clear the company's investment is “substantial financial support.”

I can't wait to see what other research comes from all of this. There are few things I love more than evidence-based anything, and peer-reviewed research studies published in major journals are one way to make sure we keep moving forward as a species, and not backward into the Dark Ages again. Let's learn everything we can, ya sluts!
