Call me old-fashioned, but I don’t find animals normal or sexy in any way whatsoever...
That’s why I just can’t understand using an animal profile as your Grindr profile.
This is the subject of this week’s #GrindrFails.
I get it, there are a lot of animal terms used to describe a gay: A dirty dog, a Bear, a Beast, a Gorilla, etc.
Also, many gays love animals! Many of us treat our pets like they are our own. Some of us go nuts over the site of a puppy or a kitten.
That’s why it’s totally fine if you want to do a profile pic with your pet, in fact, that will probably endear you to a lot of guys. Seriously, how cute is this guy with his puppy:
Who wouldn't woof (another animal term) this guy in an instant?!
Where it gets creepy is when all you show is an animal photo:
We get it, you're probably a bear, but literally?!
Then there are the profiles that actually describe themselves as animals, complete with the age and weight of a pet:
No, just no!
Some like to use a fictitious or famous animal as their profile:
Do any of these profiles actually get attention?
I guess they're just trying to be cute or funny, but if anybody was seriously looking for a hookup I don't know anybody who would actually get excited looking at a photo of "The Beast."
I'm sure there are exceptions, but let's just stick to a flattering profile pick and say that you can be an animal in the bedroom...
