Get to Know Derek Kage, the Southern Gentleman Next Door

Born and raised in Rocket City, Huntsville, Alabama, Derek Kage moved to Washington DC post-graduate program where he racked up quite the reputation as a "deep-voiced" heartbreak and hole breaker. Though starting his adult content career days before the quarantine lockdowns, Derek currently lives in Utah, where he notes beginning this career has been the wildest and best decision he has ever made.

Derek has been busy with Next Door Studios. After making his debut topping Ben Masters for Rod's Room, the studio released his second scene, "Cum Fill My Heart," where he flipped with Blain O'Connor; and on March 10, Next Door Taboo releases his third scene, "Boys Night In," where he plays stepdad to Grant Ducati (above).

1. Being from Alabama, what is a piece of southern hospitality you bring with you everywhere?

It would be easier to solve world hunger than to narrow down Southern hospitality into a single piece. I feel Southern hospitality isn't tangible but more of a culture and a way of life—how someone is. It's the way that I will greet total strangers as if I've known them forever, make everyone around me feel comfortable and welcomed—especially in my home, and quite literally charm the pants off of anyone. Take those qualities, my deep voice, and you've got a winning combination in a Southern Gentleman.

2. Did you find it difficult getting your OnlyFans off the ground at the beginning of Covid?

Starting my OnlyFans was very difficult. The pandemic didn’t help at all. I produced limited content until I was fully vaccinated to do collaborations, and also had no idea what I was getting into or how to post content. If I had known what I was doing and how to market myself better, I could have saved a lot of time and effort. The past three years were a lot of trial and error, figuring out my brand and content. I will say all the hard work and effort have paid off! I’m pleased with how far I’ve come since the first days of my OnlyFans.

3. All the girls wanna know, what makes you a hole breaker?

While I'm not the hugest dick swinger to grace the world of porn, it is still a big dick with quite the curve to it too. Get me in the mood. I love to drill, pile-drive, and jackhammer a hole until they tap out, or don't if they love it hard and deep. Not to say I don't enjoy being passionate and using my curve for their pleasure; far from it. I tend to react to my partner(s) body language when I'm inside them, and they will move in such a way that signals they want to get wrecked—and I happily oblige.

4. How long after your personal content started did you do your first professional shoot?

I started collaborating in April/May 2021 after I was fully vaccinated against COVID-19. My first collaboration was with Ray Diesel—a consummate professional and industry veteran. It wasn’t until around February 2022 that I started filming for studios. My first scene was for Fetish Men with Dillon Diaz as my scene partner and Dominic Pacifico directing. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better guys to work with for my first scene. TLDR: I began filming studio scenes almost 2 full years after starting my OnlyFans.

5. Do you have a preference: OnlyFans content or Official Studios?

Personally don't have a preference. I love both with a passion. This will probably be a long answer, but here goes. Performance is my main focus for my OnlyFans content and studio scenes. It is the most important lesson I learned in my content creator/porn star journey and the best advice I can give to potential creators: content and porn is not just sex. It's a performance that the consumer/your fans will enjoy and hopefully turn them on. I always go into scenes, content collaborations/solo or studio, the main goal: "put on a damn good performance." I also love working with my scene partners and collaborators. The social aspect of it is one of the things I love about both. I really get to meet some beautiful and wonderful people.

6. With such a scandalous reputation as your bio suggests, how is dating as a content creator? If you do date that is.

My scandalous and bad-boy reputation definitely precedes me, but in the dating world, I’ve found it to be a positive—even as a content creator/porn star. If you’re a fan of astrology, then it’s easier to explain what it’s like to date me (a Gemini). On the plus side, I am witty, upbeat, curious, eager, and playful. On the negative side, I can be easily bored, anxious, impulsive, and unpredictable. I’ve found the latter traits to be more of a hindrance in the dating world than my profession. Also, I’ve always been fiercely independent and a loner by nature. To handle a man like me, you would have to have the patience of Job, but I bet there is a person out there up to the task.

7. You get 5 mins to curate the perfect scene, who is it with and what is the scenario?

In 5 minutes, eh? Good thing I’m a big fan of spontaneous sex. I’ve always had a fantasy of being in the kitchen and cooking. My scene partner comes in and just gets right down to it. I love being versatile, so it could be any scenario/scene partner where I do any position or both! I like to say that I am “whatever the occasion calls for.” Just don’t burn anything, and keep clear of sharp objects!

8. You went on about the views in Utah. I personally love Angel’s Landing. Have you done any outdoor content?

Utah is such a naturally beautiful place, and I do enjoy making outdoor content. I’ve recently made scenes with Miguel Rey and Shane Thomas outdoors. I was also recently in a few orgies in Rick & Griff productions in rural Georgia and Palm Springs this year. It adds that extra layer of hotness to a scene to be outdoors, enjoying nature in the best ways.

9. What has been your favorite thing about content creation?

Y’all gotta give me a top 3 option with some of these questions! I swear. Narrowing down to a single thing I love about what I do is so difficult! This answer is hardly exhaustive, but I say the traveling I get to do for filming content and the studio work is my favorite part. I recently returned from London, where I filmed with some incredible creators. I have plans to go to Spain and other European cities in 2023. I am dying to go to Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, South Africa, and Australia. There is hardly a place in the world I don’t want to go to, and all the better if I get to film with great creators along the way!

10. What would we catch you doing on a day off with nothing to do?

As a big advocate for self-care, you’ll catch me enjoying my morning coffee, getting a massage/manicure/pedicure, taking a nap, jerking off at least twice, shopping, cooking a delicious meal, and reading. I don’t get those days often, so when they come, I enjoy them to the fullest—and sometimes that means doing absolutely nothing.

11. Even though it is going to end up on the floor, what is your go-to shooting attire?

For myself? I am always naked if possible. Clothes tend to get in the way. For my scene partners? I have to admit I absolutely love sexy underwear—especially a thong. A nice thong that has je ne sais quoi that gets my mouth watering and my dick rock hard.
