Good morning and welcome to another fierce recap of this week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race: TikTok VS. Connecticut! That joke never gets old… Anyway, the girls are back in the werk room after Amethyst’s elimination, and things are getting real!! Luxx is sure to remind the girls that she feels as though she deserved her challenge win. And I totally agree! It’s the lack of humility in this moment that makes me roll my eyes. Malaysia talks about how good it feels to be in the top on a sewing challenge, and I’m still confused as to why she was in the top over Estitties. Even some of the other girls agree that it was shocking to see her in the top. It all feels like a stunt to me. But what do I know?!
And just like that, it’s a new day in the werk room! RuPaul enters the werk room in what I can only describe as the most incredible cardigan ever! The sweater is sweating!! Or however, the kids on TikTok would say it. Ru tells the queens that for this week’s Maxi Challenge, they’ll be creating Golden Girls-themed, girl groups! This sounds amazing! They break into three groups of four. Each group will choose a song to perform. Their options are a heavy metal song, a country song, and a hip-hop song.

Tensions are hot when it comes down to selecting the songs!! Immediately two of the groups want the metal song. Luxx and Mistress are dead set on not letting the other group have it. Sasha Colby is not having it with these child>ren! They decide to put metal and country in a hat and draw. Of course, Malaysia pulls metal, and Luxx’s group gets stuck with country! I screamed laughing when I saw this. Let’s talk about the performances!!!

Team country is up first! And they are Marcia, Luxx, Mistress, and Estitties. I thought they did a solid job considering they didn’t want this song! Luxx and Marcia are clearly very good singers, and it showed. This feels like a safe performance, and I'm not mad about that.
Team metal is next, and they are Aura, Spice, Malaysia, and Sasha Colby. They slayed this performance! I loved the saggy titties. And lucky them for getting to wear flats during this performance! Sasha Colby was such a standout for me. She can do no wrong! Selfishly I want to see her lip sync, but I don't want to see her in the bottom. Is anyone else having this internal conflict?
Team hip-hop last, and they are Anetra, Robin Fierce, Jax, and Loosey LaDuca. Anetra and Loosey were my favorites in this group. They both have such good comedic timing!! Jax and Robin were fine, but just not as memorable as the others. Even though the judges came for Anetra saying she didn't know her words. I didn't notice when I watched it.

This week's runway category is Tie Dye to Die For! Loosey, Luxx, and Sasha Colby had my favorite looks this week! I did not live for Anetra’s runway this week. I love her so much though! Aura Mayari wins this weekend challenge!! I think her runway look saved her. Even though I thought Sasha's was better. Maybe I'm being too biased. I really thought it would be Sasha! I’m not mad though. Aura also slayed this week.

The bottom two queens this week are Jax and Robin Fierce. They lip sync to “In Your Room” by The Bangles. This lip sync was crazy!! Both of these queens are great lip sync performers, but ultimately it was Jax who won, sending Robin Fierce home. Jax is a lip sync assassin, and I was pleasantly surprised that she didn't just do a bunch of stunts. She really paced the performance and it made it that much better! But I feel like we barely got to see anything from Robin Fierce. I wish these episodes weren’t so short! Everything feels so rushed!

Okay, I usually don't talk about Untucked here, BUT this week's episode featured some actual drama and I was LIVING for it. After all the drama over who got to do the metal song, Malaysia and Luxx got into a little tiff in Untucked. It all started when Malaysia accused Luxx and Mistress of bullying when they tried to overstep the other teams to get their song. Luxx did not take kindly to being called a bully, and they had a back-and-forth. Eventually, Marcia chimed in saying she was sick of having this discussion, and Malaysia let her have it. Well, that’s that on that! Come back next week for another Drag Race Recap! It looks like the queens will be overacting in a reboot of The Daytona Winds! I wonder if there’ll be any fart jokes… I'm not ready.
